I agree the rumble pad move was dickish and I was pissed about it at the time and yet I still don't own a rumble pad yet. I understand that BC is a big factor when you pay big money for a new console. When I made the move to the PS3 there was not a whole lot going on so that is when I used my BC the most. Given there was no PS store games for $10 bucks and only two maybe three games worth owning now. But now being in the third year of the PS3 their are bundle deals, PS3 greatest hits games, PSN games etc. So because Halo is played means dick to the PS2 users and most of Halo users are online only players.

 

While I know its not personal I just want to say:

Its not about "BC means dick" its "I don't see why its so high on the priority list".

Yes the 360 can play Halo 2 but if it couldn't it wouldn't have stopped those 250,000 players continuing using their original xboxs. For some BC is a convenience and for others its a die hard feature. I'm just in the "convenience/not high priority" camp and am not quite sure how to correctly state so.

I love my 360 to death but I wouldn't mind owning a PS3. You get the best of both.

 

First of all, Halo 2 will always be played because Halo may as well be a console of its own. How many people still play Otagi, Crimson Skies, or Fable 1? On the other hand, I agree with you because the PS2 had a bigger lineup than the 360 had in its entire lifespan (with the exception of the Halo series). I still think Sony needs to put that shit back in. People are asking for it. If they read what's on the boards and see that this is what is holding some people back, then they should added, even if it's as a discounted emulation.

However, the whole Rumble is so last gen thing makes it seem like Sony has been the only one to put their foot in their mouth. MS banked on HD DVD and when it crashed and burned they took the stance of "We only make gaming machines.....but you can watch Netflix in it". Their previous stance with XBOX1 was "We have the more powerful system, and now it's not about the power, it's about the games. And I recall Nintendo banking on cartridges being better than disc, and now who is supporting the disc media (yet still stubbornly sticking to their own form of it.) My argument has always been, no one can throw stones.

 

I just want them to release something like the 60g again.
I will buy it regardless of price. Yes, regardless of price. Screw the online scalpers want $1000+ for the system.

Just give it a very small or no hard drive at all (since you know Sony will complain about production costs) because no matter which PS3 I get, I will take out the stock hard drive and put in a much, much, larger one.

 

i think BC becomes a high priority to a lot of people when they have to figure out which thing to remove from the TV connection or switch box...

i only got a tube TV with three inputs. Had my DVD, PS2, and GC connected to it...
when i got my Wii, the GC went away...
when i got my PS3, the PS2 went away...

its different now as i got a switch box...but thats not the point.

I have both systems in my house and they are great systems, although I prefer the PS3 a little bit more (Killzone 2, MGS4, and Drakes) the xbox360 is still a awesome piece of machinery, Fable 2 is such a great game, cannot wait till 3.

Of course I do, but I think the real destroyer here is Smang. I just hang out behind hitting Twist with Missles. I really want to try the new Eliminator mode. I bet that is brutal online.

 

If Smang is as good at Wipeout as he is at MvC2 then i'm really fucked  

 

He is, but I've beaten him a couple of times. BUT, he has beaten the game, and I haven't.
