    I feel miserable right now.

The Playstation 3 PSN network has been down for over over thirty-six (36) hours now. I cannot log-in and play my favourite on-line games such as Risk Factions.

I'm going through "PS3 withdrawal" right now.

Apparently, Sony suspects that hackers may be targetting their PSN network.

Who else feels miserable right now?

I've been meaning to cancel my subscription to DC Universe Online, and finally got around to doing it last night. I can't do it without connecting to PSN, so until this is fixed, my virtual wallet is gonna get drained. :(  I have really bad luck.

Also, it seems that the hacker group Anonymous denies being responsible, but I'm not buying their bullshit for a second: Hackers Deny Involvement in PSN Outage - PS3 News at IGN

I've been having log-in issues for the past week or so. For the first time ever I've been thinking about actually buying an x-box cause of sonys bullshit.

One week of connection problems and you already give up? :lol

Call me crazy, but I'd keep occasional minor connection problems any day over having to go from free to paid subscription. I get minor problems every once and a while, but they always pass. (this situation is an exception)

The attack is unfortunate, but I'm not too mad, I have Photoshop and Netflix to keep me occupied.

I wonder if this incident is a result of the case that fell through with Sony and the guy who hacked the PS3. Maybe Anonymous (even though they're denying it) did hack the network. With the whole idea that companies can tell us what to do with what we bought and own... I don't know if I can blame them. :2c:

Sony starts suing gamers and then their online network goes kaboom? Haha, karma.

Gamers that went online and boasted about hacking their system and showed the world how they could do it. I don't know a single company that would say, "awwe, that's cute, let's let them keep doing this" :)  Besides, Sony let the little twerp off with a slap on the wrist. I don't think they even asked him to pay anything.

I got FFIV to entertain me, though in all honesty, I don't really play many games online. This does blow for those who live off online play.

Wow, that really blows. It's shit like this for why I still haven't gone next gen yet, got my Ps2, GBA, GBC, N64, Dreamcast, Saturn, Nomad, Game Gear, Genesis, and NES to keep me occupied. With those, all I have to worry about is blowing on carts and cleaning discs, and if i want multiplayer, I either use computer bots or go grab a friend. I don't have to worry about the network.

We really are spoiled when it comes to our instant gratification entertainment. Heaven forbid the day something serious happens to us lol.

According to the following update from IGN:

PSN Outages to Continue - PS3 News at IGN

the PSN Network was turned off by Sony due to an "external intrusion".

Unfortunately, Sony did not announce when the PSN Network will be re-activated.

Thank God I didn't pay $50.00 for the Playstation Plus yearly subscription!

I'm assuming this affects the PSP's on-line too?

Why? Plus has nothing to do with being online. This hasn't affected anything with Plus. Now if this lasts 2 months and I miss out on the deals I would have had with Plus, then I would be ticked. Plus is not Live. It's not a subscription to be online. It's a Sam's Club for PSN.

Yeah, I haven't been able to access the store on PSP. Glad I bought FFIV before this happened

There is a misconception that you can't use Netflix though, but you still can. Just skip past all the PSN errors and you're back in,

You do realise you can still use a PS3 and an Xbox while not connected to their respecitve services?

I've had no PSN access for a week, it doesn't bother me all. I can still play my games and at least now I won't be tempted to download even more games from the store. Win/Win.

I managed to buy FFIV before the system went down, but now I can't transfer it to the PSP since I can't sign into PSN. Arrrgghhhhh!

Same thing here. Eventhough I am not connected, my system downloaded an update for another game that I didn't play for a while.
