Finally got around to connecting my PS3 up to the wireless and jumped onto the PS store section to find some demos. It's... somewhat barren. Am I missing something here or is it rarely updated? Seems as though there are about 120 demos in total. I was looking for the Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood demo which is on Xbox Live, but no luck here. Am I correct in assuming that the downside to having a free online system is minimal content and updates?

I'm not really sure. I think PS3 gets the demos late. Every month or so most games are updated, and you get new stuff. Playstation also gives free map packs on some games, so I'm happy.

New content is released every Thursday around 5PM. Microsoft likes to throw money at developers to make sure they get stuff first. It results in some demos being delayed. But I'd say the weekly updates are anything but minimal, unless you're outside the US.

I wouldn't say they get their demos late. PSN got their batman demo before Live did. I got my playstation Call of Juares Demo from the UK store, and getting an account for other countries is easier there. Besides, someone like me who refuses to pay for Live, doesn't get their demos before PSN because MS keeps Silver members from attaining potential promotional material. But yeah, they update every week, with a lot of different elements, and they also put PSP demos out, so the focus isn't always on one thing, especially when your competition is paying for earlier releases.

You are incorrect, yes sometimes they are a couple days behind because Sony only does updates on Thursday's. For the most part they get demo's that same week at most a week behind. The update are typically around 6pm EST weekly on Thursday's.

I traded in eventually. It's a fun enough game, for certain, but it just got repetative way too quickly. I want Excitebots... Oh, and the SNES Star Wars came out for the Wii Store.... I guess I'd better buy a couple of classic controllers to throw at the wall.

I had a lot more skill when that game came out. I finished all three of them, but I think games now have made me grow soft.
