    So the Slim is about as close to being confirmed as you can get, considering some retailers are as of today now taking preorders. Thinking TT is right and there may be a firmware update relating to that. Kinda like the iPhone..a new model comes out and it has a new firmware, but all the existing users get the new firmware too.

    I don't give a frog's ass about the slim unless it comes with a price drop, and a decent one. I need a second PS3 for my fiance by the time DC Universe comes out, and I ain't paying full price.

    i care about the slim in that it will hopefully put more ps3s in peoples houses.

    No, Twist, what I mean to say is that the Slim could be the PSP's Go... A redesign, but keep the pricetag high. I know the PSPGo has 16 internal gig, and I know it's worth the price when that is factored in, but a high price tag is going to keep it on the shelves.

    So if Sony announces the slim without a price drop, then it's going to go in one ear and out the other, thus the future of my chosen platform becomes potentially bleak.

    edit: with the strong game lineup this fall, what would drive it home even moreso is a price drop in the console.
