Trophies will stay on your harddrive even after the save data has been deleted. So you should be ok getting rid of some of your save data.

well you can upgrade the hard drive or delete the install data from the games. Deleting the install data will free up a ton of space!

Ok, so, there's pretty much no point to ever deleting your save files. They're pretty small.

Disc installs range between 300 mb and 4-gigs. They are found in the xmb like one or two spaces above save files. You can check the size of the install by pressing '^' and then 'Information'.

Trophies are stored locally on your system until you sync, then they are forever recorded on the PSN servers.

Trophy data is a strange beast. It's almost always attached to save data. It works like this:

-either the Trophy triggers when an event occurs, aka beat a level ta da...Trophy
-or, a tally is kept for the 'Kill 50 enemies' type trophy.

thanks for the replys guys, just one more question though, is it possible to use a key board and mouse for playing a PS3, ano it kinda misses the point in having a PS3, but i kinda prefer using them, and if so do i have to buy PS3 compatible ones or can any old ones work?

    thanks in advance

Any USB accessory will work with the PS3...really, essentially anything.

But games themselves do not support them for play.

I've got a 250Gb drive attached to my 40G PS3 for video and backup, I keep old save games (that the system will allow to be copied!) on there and just delete the install data, unless it's something I've bought DLC for.

A real shame that stuff can't be installed on the external drive but just means you have to be picky with what you keep on there.

With new games usually needing at least 5Gb to install it does get very annoying when you have to delete things though.

What was 5 gigs to install? Dragon Age was just about the largest thing I have on my system and it was in the 3 gig realm.

I just upgraded my PS3 from a 40 Gig to 320GB. Don't worry so much now about stuff like Trophies taking up space. The HD only cost about $70 at Best Buy (Western Digital) and took like 30 minutes from taking off the side panel to playing my first game. Not a bad choice IMO.

Fallout 3 is also about 5Gb, NFS:Shift too.

I dread to think of the space GT5 will need......

you can store data on a memory stick or an external hard-drive.
