So i bought a PS3 Slim 120gb about a month ago. About a week ago, even when fully charged, when i unplug my remote from the usb cable, all the lights will start blinking. So i'll plug it in, or i'll hit the reset button on the back, and it doesn't help, once i unplug it again. I've reassigned the controller as well, and still it's a 50/50 chance of working or not.

Has anyone else had this problem?!

    Yes, some people have.

There are some issues with the latest firmware updates. Controller synch is one of them.

The fix is supposed to be out by the end of December. I don't have this issue from 3.1, but I can't synch my trophies (the other possible problem).

Don't worry or get discouraged, this is one of the few updates that has had real problems. Sony is on the case for the fix.

But you should check the controller out on a friend's system. You may have gotten a defective one...(but probably not)

Ahh, all this time I thought my crappy router was the culprit.

No, it's SCE's fault. They did a bad job of adjusting the code now that it's facebook integrated.

I don't know if you have your media server on but that was the issue with my slim. I downloaded eyeconnect for my mac because the PS3 was designed to really only interact with PC's. Eye Connect allowed me to watch videos from my macs hard drive on the PS3 without having to move the file.

Anyhow, once I disabled that, the controllers worked again.

man, I haven't been online with my ps3 in a few weeks. I'll have to turn the updates off before I do so that it doesn't dl this new release. seems like it's messed up a bunch of things.

Right now i have it working, but i have to start up with a process for it to sync right.

The controller has to be plugged into the system, and i have to turn it on by power button instead of using the controller. After it all loads, i give a silent prayer and unplug the controller. It's working 75% of the time now. LOL

And yea i have my media server on, but it's to a pc. And it's all wired, not wireless so i don't see how that could be disrupting it. Ionno, i guess i'll just deal for a couple of weeks. Kind of annoying though.

I didn't have to set up anything for media sharing. When I installed Windows 7 on my PC, a Windows icon appeared in the XMB and all of my media files were there! Woo!

Funny, I got both of these earlier (trophy synching and the controller)

Thought it was just that I hadn't configured it correctly. Just got the PS3 slim yesterday so still playing around and setting it all up.

I have not had the controller problem, but I am currently having the trophy issue. I would just say wait for the updated firmware. It isn't like something is wrong with the actual controller, it's just the fact that they need to fix a few bugs in th firmware.

Yea me too! That was great. It's so much better than having to physically transfer files to the system.

I'm just gonna stick it out and hope for the fix.
