    ...why is this even news? I mean most GBA/DS games have a sleep mode but none of the regular nintendo systems do.

    Leaving a PS2 in standby mode killed the system even faster. Leaving a PS3 in standby mode would probably burn your house down.

    Not to derail but how did it kill the system? Mine's always in standby and it never did anything to it.

    But the Wii will...and does the PS2 and PSP...seems like people figured the PS3 will too. Plus it said RUMORS...so this has answered it.

    The PS2 has a standby mode, just like the PS3 will have, is what I gathered from the article.
