I'm guessing from what i looked up that this is the PS3 version of the PS2 disk read error. So after working fine all weekend my 3 year old 120GB slim PS3 gave me this error and will no longer play games or blu-rays. Has anyone here had this problem? Is it possible to get this fixed? I'm not looking forward to buying a 3rd PS3. :banghead:

My BR lens died twice in one year of owning it. Died 6 months after purchase... right after one of their updates. I read alot of people's BR lens started to die after that, doubt it was the update, but it was pretty weird to read so many threads about it. Had Sony fix it the first time. Died a second after 6 months again. Warranty was out, did not want to pay $150 for to get it fixed and get 6 months of warranty. Wasn't even worth putting any more money towards it so I jailbroke it..... Anyways, I was never able to fix it, even after watching all those YouTube videos. After the lens died, I did manage to get it to read some discs a few times, but then it just stopped. I've heard you can buy a BR lens and replace it yourself.

Yenno, I always wondered if their firmware has anything to do with the lens not working. Its like they purposely do it just so you can turn it and and get it supposedly repaired. Like I said earlier, mine was fine till I got an update.
