I have a PS3 160GB and am thinking about getting rid of it for a PS3 120 GB, what are the differences and should i even waste my time?
Some input from the TFW crew would be helpful.

    I honestly wouldn't bother.

The 120(slim) looks nicer and is streamlined but the 160(fatty) is a better machine IMO.

The Fattys look better to me IMHO. It looks like a actual hard working muti media player.

Haven't had a problem with my "fat" system yet. I just upgraded it from a 40GB hard drive to a 320GB hard drive, and the only thing I wish it had was backwards compatiblity. It's not a big deal though, since I would probably rarely play PS2 games anyway.

I have had my launch PS3 (60GB) in perfect working order well since launch. Plays games, Bluray, and its a Multi Media Player. Its a Fantastic Device.

No difference I think from what PS3 version to another other then hard drive size. I would stick with your 160gb if I was you. Maybe a bit difference of the size of the PS3 case but thats all I could think of.

Only difference is that the slim does not play PS2 games, so stick to your old one, unless it brakes down.

The "fat" PS3 doesn't play PS2 games either. There was one version of the PS3 which could to some degree, but I dunno anymore where it was sold. Doesn't matter, because in Europe it wasn't.

yup. older models are more susceptible to the so called "yellow light of death" afaik, its mostly brought about by the thermal paste drying up.

as far as the 160 gig fatty against the 120 gig slim, main difference besides the size of the ps3 itself and hardrives, the slim consumes less power.
