Aww, poor Sony. Big E3 announcement spoiled by Circuit City? Oh well, mighty tempting. Still need a new TV as well though, so I'm not e. Still, for a system that doesn't fail 33% of the time, has Blu-Ray, and whose game library continues to grow and grow; niiice. :thumb

Nope. They just took a $1 billion (pre-tax) hit for repair reimbursements and what they estimate the new 3 year warranty will cost them.

I dunno, I'm not into disc players as much as I used to be. Apple TV, high def ppv, and X-Box Live changed my way of thinking. It might make an interesting machine for internet on my 100" wall, but then again I haven't used Wii much for that.

Then of course, there's the games. The only one I know I want to play for sure is Virtua Fighter.

I don't think I can be convinced to put down $500 for it. Especially since it lacks a form of media download.

$500 is better, but still beyond what most typical gamers are willing or able to spend. It will almost certainly be matched by a $50-100 cut on the 360 and Wii.

I don't see why Nintendo would cut the Wii price. I have yet to ever see one in a Target, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart or K-Mart. No need to drop the price of something that's selling just fine as is.

I get a kick out of the article and or people thinking at first that this wasn't a price cut coming from Sony.

No store that I know of would sell something $100 less then what they paid for it.

Yeah, I don't see Nintendo being in any hurry to drop the price. Even with the price drop, the PS3 is twice what the Wii is.

I bought the only Wii I ever saw on store shelves. I have never seen one before or since.

I recently read an article talking about how there has never been a console with this kind of demand six months out. Ever.

For a lark, I preordered one through Amazon and I got it on release day.

That being said, I've only touched it twice in the last three or four months or so. Once to get the free Opera download and once when I got my free copy of Mario Party 8.
