I wish that were true, I want my PS3 Damnit. ..and last great PS2 game or not, I'm not convinced that Black is a great game at all.
What a dumb thing for the mag so say with the ps3 so far off. I'm sure developers with games still in the works really LOVE it.
Considering the huge wave of games coming out this month, why would they be so foolish to say something like that? They pretty much just said KH 2 isn't great, let alone a ton of other games that are coming out between now and the PS3. Silly headline, that's all.
I call bullshit. There are plenty of games still coming for the PS2. Even cross platform PS2/PS3 titles. God of War 2 comes to mind.
Idiots, it is just hype printed on the cover to get you to buy the damn mag. Remember, even though the "last great game" on PS1 was the Final Fantasy Origins, didn't stop developers from churning out titles years later.
Meh, just a headline to sell the mag and from all accounts I've heard/read so far a so-so action game. Plus I'm sure it never helps to remind anyone who may not keep up on game news that PS3 is around the corner. Besides there's still KH2, FF12, and Okami to look forward to at least.
As far as I'm concerned, the PS2/Xbox/whatever will only die when the last game is produced for it, that isn't some greatest hits title, anyone disagree?

Oh for fuck's sake. The cover and the "last great game" business isn't half as annoying as the douchebag who actually wrote that article/blog/whatever. Reading too much into it, dude? Nothing about the cover implies that it's the ZOMGlast PS2 game. It's just hyperbolic bullshit about Black, "the last great game." There's still a sizable pile of PS2 games that will come out before the (delayed) PS3, but "ZOMG, NonE of thEM will bE as grEAt as Teh Black!!!11"...according to one of a dozen gaming magazines. Ol' Vladimir Cole there needs to get out more, or at least read a weightier magazine every now and then. I'd suggest not diving immediately into say The New Yorker, maybe Sports Illustrated...for Kids.
The PS2 is dead when companies stop putting out games for it. And that ain't happening for a while. -XCN-
This is further down the page I'd say that it's probably NOT the last great game, but still, why would you even put that on your cover? Especially being the official PS Mag. PSM hasn't one anything that stupid and they're the independent mag.
