Its crap. It will make you respect G1 less, unless you 'take the pain' and pretend its 'not really that bad'.

    Run! Forget it ever existed!

It can't be that bad. Can you at least make a comparison, what genre it is, etc?

From what I've seen, it looks quite fun, and theres a huge amount of Characters to play as.

I intend to get my PS2 chipped and Import a copy.

It's not all that great. It's a beat 'em up, you run across foggy landscapes beating up endless waves of enemies with punches and kicks, you've got two guys to support you but they're about as useful as the Minicon support guy from the Armada game, sans bullet time.
The story sequences are the highlight of the game. If you can find a download of all of them linked together, then you've seen the best bit. Some of the scenes are pretty funny, like Soundwave one-upping Cyclonus or Rodimus trying to impress Arcee but ultimately instead making himself even less impressive in her eyes.

Comparison - having bowel surgery is more pleasant than playing this game. And I speak from experience...

I found it entertaining for the hilariously bad English voice-acting in all the cut scenes.

    That's about it.

Hmm, checked Youtube, it's not on there. If I knew how to encode scenes from the game, I'd grab that one. It's in the later stages of the game. It is possibly the best scene in the whole game and characterises both of them very nicely.

I take it then that you have the game, can you tell me though:-
All the playable Characters for both Decepticons + Autobots.
All the boss fights for Each side (e.g, the boss fight as Decepticons on the powerplant level is Brainstorm)

Also, I know how to get gameplay footage onto VHS, but not to DVD or Computer.

(In a youtube video, Trypticon and Predaking are shown, can you use them?)

As the Decepticons you have to play though the game twice to unlock all the Autobots, and vise versa.

    Autobots:
    Optimus Prime,Hound,Wheeljack,Bumblebee,Rodamis Prime,Autobot headmasters,Monsterbots,Jazz,UltraMagnis,Kup,Springer,Blurr,Arcee,Ratchet,Grotusque
    Doublecross,Hotrod.

    Decepticons:
    Megatron,Galvatron,Starscream,Soundwave,Shockwave,Blitzwing,Astrotrain,Octan,The decepticons Headmasters,Scourge,Cyclonus,Sharkticon,Full-tilt,Dark Hotrod
,And I think the last one to unlock is SixShot.

I know Apeface + Snapdragon are in there, am I right in guessing that six-shot is like the triple changers, where he is a different character for each mode?

Yeah, unlock that guy and you get five different Sixshots to play as.
Boss fight with him is cool, he uses his Bunshin technique and you end up fighting five or six versions of him, each in different modes.

Also, to correct: to unlock one faction, you need to play through the game as them. To get the Decepticons, it is twice as the Decepticons. You get a new guy after each mission, there's a little scene where they show up and are introduced.

Please, don't bother. I have it and it's quite horrible. The most fun I got out of it was transforming the characters back and forth in the character select menu.

As a game, it's hopelessly slow, buggy, and hard to control. As fan service, it works pretty well. But, alas, you have to plow through the game first...

Also, most of the figures you see in pictures are just clones. Sometimes you fight 10 Prowls at a time. The big bosses are also obviously not playable.

Then I wonder how the heck they chose the playables. I mean, having loads of Triple Changers and Sixshot taking up character spaces, when guys like Grimlock and Razorclaw are just noname clones?

I like the game. The voice acting is crap, but hey, at least it even had English voices to understand in the first place considering it's a Jap game. My only real complaint is the lack of free roaming. But I liked it. I enjoy it immensly. You get tons of G1 characters to choose from.
