I was wondering if anyone here has experience using a middleman or some similar service when purchasing toys.

What are your opinions/reccomendations regarding this?

I've only ever used celga. I've been pretty satisfied with them but I'm sure there are cheaper ones around.

I've used EX Japan/Yokatta Order and although I have yet to receive any of my items yet, my experience with them has been great so far.

Yokattaweb/EX_Japan have been excellent to deal with in my experience. And being on the northwest coast has meant that SAL packages from 'em have gotten here within 10 days. :D

Well it's good to know that they aren't as slow as HLJ when it comes to SAL.

I've used Shopping Mall Japan for the occasional Yahoo Japan auction purchase. No complaints here.

i have used Ex Japan/Yokatta Order a couple of times, i am very happy with their service. they always reply my emails quickly. they also send items as gifts or lower the value as to avoid custom charges.

Yeah, I use them also. I am most impressed by the services provided but do keep track of the items you're buying. I had instances when they forgot to bid or forgotten they had bidded on - no joke! X)

It seems that the Ex Japan service is the way to go. So I shall attempt to get in touch with them.

    Thanks all!

Right now I'm using Shopping Mall Japan for Yahoo auctions, and Goody Japan for normal online store shopping. Tenso.com is probably a good way to go too as long as the Japanese store will take your American credit card (I discovered Konami Style doesn't).

Things to consider when comparison shopping proxy services is the fee structure, and what methods of payment they accept (Paypal? Credit card?).

Surprised to see no one mention Rinkya. I've only used them for Yahoo! Japan auctions, but no complaints.

Their fees are pretty high compared to the others is why. I used them for the first round of stuff I got from YJA but then switched to Shopping Mall Japan.
