Sweet. This version of BB will definetly be mine. I thought it was great that he had his arm cannon, even better that it could become a sworde, but now that we see that it can be removed, it's even better than it was. I can't wait to see this guy in the store.
To be fair it's leaving it more than a month if they release it on the movie weekend, and Bumblebee is a very popular character. You always see abut a dozen Spider-men for a Spider-man movie, and at least 2 Wolverines for an X-men movie with the first month or so. I like to think of the current BB as one of a Preview figure, and the one we're getting after that is the proper one. Most kids will have already bought that BB who are planning to get it by then anyway, since he's the main character of the film pretty much. '08 Bumblebee won't sell well if they leave it too long, because of what you said, it looks pretty similiar, some kids won't want something they already have, and will be left a more negative impression of TFs in general when they can't even get the main character accurate.
Well, that's lookin' like THE Bumblebee to have. Depending on my own willpower, that may just be the only BB movie toy I end up getting.
It's funny - all of the things they've done with '08 BB is what I had originally expected out of Ultimate BB. I know, I shouldn't bash on Ult. BB so much, but I just can't help it.
The only thing that I can think of that would make this Deluxe toy even better, would be to add his battle mask on his head. We haven't actually seen a toy version of him with it for some reason. If anything it would make sense on this one because of his duel functioning weapon. I personally have nothing against Ultimate BB. It's all the gimmicks that make his transformation and stuff simpler than this one where the automorph, the duel functioning weapon, and just the plain fact that he transforms are the only gimmicks that he has.
Kool, I can't wait for this one. I've always been doubtful abouting buying the old version and was wondering why I haven't heard of the new camaro, but now I know I must wait.

It looks like he's sitting down, hands on his lap and soles of his feet facing towards you like some energetic hobo granddaddy ready to tell you the story of how he saved a magic lamb from a slaughterhouse. Also, his head looks kind of like Megaman X. Where are the horns though? :/ Guess they're so small on the movie model they haven't picked up here. It's the one thing I'd change(and may take it on myself to change) about him, he needs cute little(but very noticable) horns.
No it doesnt. The only similarity is that it has a crest on the top. thats a similarity he shares with 90% of all transformers.
Not just that - it's the round-ness of it, Robos don't normally have heads like that, Hot Rod did though, and obviously Megaman. Look at the way he has "ears" at the side, from front on it looks an awful lot like Megaman ears. Also, the two strips that are moulded but not painted, a lot of X's upgraded form helmets had strips like those.
Hey guys, I tried really hard with this so people could see what he'll look like when he's painted. It was very hard because of the transparent windows and the somewhat sunken details(always seems to happen when you photograph TFs with unpainted plastic), but I tried my best. Took me a while to do, hope it's okay.
Yes, but it was mistransformed. Personally, I am glad he did that so I can see the painted version properly transformed.
I'm surprised no one is complaining about the arm and leg kibble. I've seen people complaining for less than that.
With an ugly mistransformed chest and not holding the weapon. Plus, this one has a cooler license plate. If you were paying attention, you notice I shopped the head from the proto you're talking about onto this one, which should be obvious since this head is at a completely different angle to the original pic, therefore I must have seen that proto too.
