I really like this mold but I though the colors were bland and even though it certainly isn't a ground breaking idea, I decided to paint him in more traditional Prime colors. Unfortunately, I don't think the pictures came out that good but you can still get the basic idea

To be honest, I am too scarred to try and transform him. I don't want to scratch up the paint.

Looks nice. It captures a lot of lost details, and makes it look very Beast Machine-esque.

I agree. I thought the mold in general looked kinda Beast Machine like and thought these designs would have worked better for a line between Beast Machines & Armada as kind of a transition line from Beasts back to vehicles. More so than as the movie designs which I think are to drastic of a change from the traditional Transformer to introduce to millions of people on the big screen. Just one mans opinion.

    I dig it.

Anyone else see the Gaiking vibe this thing has? The chest has the whole Daryu Maiku head going on.

I like my Protoform Prime figure, but after seeing the repaint here (and the previous Starscream repaint), I'm kind of hoping we get a repaint of them...

I read the title of the thread & groaned, expecting it not to work. But surprisingly it doesn't look bad at all. Minor crit: I'd paint the abs/grille silver!

I had this idea, too. Can we see it in Alt. mode? I was curious as to what the "meteor" would look like after repainting...

maybe if hasbro had done a paint app like this they wouldn't all be warming the shelves.

It's a little early to be called a shelfwarmer, isn't it? I just saw it this week!

I agree. Oddly enough, with both comments. It's too soon to call it that, but, when the Classics first came out, I didn't see endcaps full of them, just sitting there, untouched...

true, also. but remember that when classics came out, the stores actually let us buy the toys. in my town, i was denied sale day after day, until the display and the toys were eventually removed. it was pretty confusing/irritating.

I don't doubt it will eventually be a shelfwarmer, I just think you can't call it that yet.
That said, it's probably going to be one of two possible movie toys that I buy.
