Hey all out there in fanboy land! I'm working on many many many things and this is just one that I would like to spitball and get some feedback. I'm going to do it for myself at some point but if enough interest is shown I will make it available for all. I love the Protector Armor, and I understand why they did not manufacture him in a closer likeness, but I just want a proper looking Autobot Leader for my 86 shelf. Would anyone be interested in grabbing a kit like this? It would consist of:
    New Wings
    New Head
    New Chest / cod-piece.
No mods to the original required and would most likely be cast in color.
As of now it's just a mock-up and the final product will have a better blend of Fansproject and G1 and I'll use the thread to show it off but I just wanted some feedback for now.

Sorry, not feeling that at all. It looks...frankensteined. Two styles that need not mix.

Well like I said, this is just a rough digi-bash. The final product would be more of a blend of FP's chunky aesthetic and G1 animation models. But input appreciated either way.

well It would actually make Protector look even slightly like Rodimus Prime then it would be a success.

To be honest I prefer the FP/Classics look over the G1 cartoon style any day. Mixing the styles sound like a bad idea.

It looks interesting but the two styles will take a lot of tweaking to flow together well.

I like the idea, and think it would certainly be worth making a kit. Keeping it chunky and classics oriented is the main issue. If I were to purchase a kit, I would want to take the Rodimus pieces off and on and not feel a noticeable stylistic difference. As great as cartoon accurate would look, unless the Hot Rod portion is changed as well I think it will not jive. You have mentioned that this is only a rough digibash and I am certain as you work on it you can capture the balance, but it will be tough to get it "just right". Good luck I'm sure many like me will eagerly await updates.

I want a set. And yes, I know it may sound crazy, but can you also do a set in clear for the crystal version of protector?

and if you could make it so it could still connect with the trailer that would be even more sweet!

That's the challenge I'm setting up for myself. I'm hoping for the same thing. To look at it and not notice that it's just pieces slapped on.

Once a mold is made a clear version may be possible but the quality would worry me. Everytime I've casted something in clear resin it seems more brittle. These pieces would assumingly be taking alot of stress and i'm not sure the material would hold up. it's worth looking into tho, thanks.

That's the plan. To have them incorporated into the trailer as well!

Like I said, the goal is a mix of what fansproject has done already but with a more familiar appearance.
