I am impress at this stage. And it will probably look even more amazing once the details are colored in.

 

Does this mean I'm not allowed to say that so far I really don't like this thing in this thread?

I'm still hoping some paint aps might pull it together some.

The important thing though is that most of you seem to love it.

 

I don't dislike it cos it's an unpainted prototype, I dislike it because it doesn't look great, in my opinion. And that's what it's all about - opinions.

 

Robot mode looks sooo much better with that big spoiler wing attached.  

I really like it. I know that it doesn't come close to Masterpiece Rodimus Prime, in terms of replicating the cartoon model. But Classics Hot Rod doesn't look anything like his cartoon model. This robot mode looks like Classics Hot Rod on steroids, which is appropriate really?

Love how it looks in colours and I love the head sculpt too. And the sculpted flames.   Happy to get this and Masterpiece Rodimus, if I can scrape together enough currency.

 

This looks great--But why is it I remember reading that this was designed for Henkei Hotrod instead of the hasbro version? What difference would it make just for the gold spoiler? Are they going to add chrome to this or something?

 

The "Sidearm" add-on, which is essentially his Targetmaster Firebolt will actually include "chromed" wing extensions.

 

It's made for Hasbro's, the Side arm/targermaster comes with chromed spoiler parts for the the Henkei version.

I don't like the red fists and the fact that the trailer is touching the ground worries me.

 

There isnt anything wrong with saying they dont like it

Its just that evrey thread either protector or MP rodimus ends up getting comments with people saying they prefer one over the other most of the time without them even giving any objective reason.

What especially doesnt make any sense to me is why people are putting these figures up against eachother as if you can only have one of them.One of them is a classics rodimus prime and the other masterpeice two completeley diffrent lines. If its a finacial problem then just wait for the U.S. relase of MP Rodimus.

 

The fists will probably be painted. But you're right about the trailer touching the ground. Good eye.

 

I'm starting to actually like Rod now. I just went ahead and bought the Challenge at Cybertron pack because of this.

Yeah, I know the colors might be a little off, but I'm not paying $80 for a solo Hot Rod.

 

    I picked up the Challenge for Cybertron set from BBTS. My Classics 1.0 will look sick with this set and the Hot Rod from the CFC set will look great as Hot Rod. This will be money very well spent indeed!

 

Very pleased by what I'm seeing, I may wait to see the final product to decide to panel line it.

 

So glad I sold my classics hot rod over the summer, put that money to better use. This FP upgrade just isn't my cup of tea.

 

I really like it! i like this much sleeker winnebago than the original g1, im still getting both the FP add one and MP Rodimus  .

If this is scheduled to come out in December a painted prototype should have been made by now. I plan on keeping my Henkei Hot Rod as Rodimus and using this kit on the Hasbro release.

 

People are comparing the two and choosing one over the other because they are of the same character and are releasing around the same time. Even if it is not a financial problem, people still have a choice to choose one over the other. You know sometimes a preference is just hey, what the hell I like the look of this or that. You don't have to give a specific reason.

I for one like both the FP design and the Masterpiece's and plan to get both.

 

Amazing....FP continues to rock.

But I can't help to wonder...why not just make a complete figure instead of just these add ons?
