I have been working on this for over a year now and I had hoped to have it ready to drive to Botcon. However I cracked the engine block while using the engine in my test bed car and had to build a new motor.

Project C-56 (Codename: Bumblebee ;)  ) is a 1962 Volkswagen Beetle with a 1776cc Aluminum Block Engine with an Engle W110 Cam, Full Flow Oil and Dual Weber 34 ICT Carburetors mated to a later model IRS “Freeway Flyer” Transmission. When completed it will have Custom Suspension Seats in the front , Alpine IDA-X305s Stereo matched to Kenwood 6x9’s and 10” Subs in the rear and Kenwood 6”’s in the front. The Car will ride on Empi Coilover Shocks in the rear and Empi lowered shocks in the front. To give it the G1 toy look it will be riding on 14” Stock Rims with Chrome VW Hubcaps from a VW Bus, and WIDENED 14” Bus Rims in the back with matching hubcaps and an oversized tires. The Car is being finished in GM’s Rally Yellow paint (The TF SE Camaro’s paint code) with Autobot symbols in red Vinyl being applied between the paint and the generous layers of clear.
For now I give you before pictures. More to come soon.

Oh and that is it's Legal License Plate (well a copy that Gilvezan Signed). It is registered as C-56 in the state of AZ.

How much did you narrow the front beam? Tires look tucked in pretty tight.

Looks like you have your work cut out for you but it appears to be coming along nicely. Way beyond my scope of stuff!

Ohh very nice. Wish i had a '60's bug but can only afford a '72 at the moment, and shes orange not yellow heh. Cant wait to see yours finished. Wish i had those rims on mine, my Empi 8's are nice but i prefer the classic look.

It's a 6" beam, but I may go with a Ball Joint Beam instead. Jury is still out on that.

    Thanks for the comments guys!

Wait until you see the seats. They are going to be sick. Especially the Autobot Symbols in the headrests.

Very nice, She will run well with that engine set up you got.
I used to have an 98 Jetta VR6 with a with an intake manifold and cam swap( made top end much better), she ran well. Now I play with twin turbo Audi's and I love them but man I miss how simple the VW was to tune and work on.
    GL and nice work.

Damn nice, cannot wait to see it in yellow. The beetle is my five car (you know dudu?). And now the obligatory question: will it transform? :-D

I can't even see the images(lol usaf security policies at work) and I think this sounds AWESOME.
I always appreciate a good build on a classic platform. I've always heard the old bugs are a great candidate. There's a couple good looking ones around base. They sound GREAT too.
Not TF related in the least, but before I deployed I was working on restoring my first-gen miata from the ground up. Cars are a lovely bit of work, aren't they?
I'll have to check out these pics when I get home. Sounds sick! good luck!

Dude, you need a GPS or gaming system in the dashboard with a "Teletraan-1" nameplate on it.
