I am trying to head off a problem before it becomes a issue.

I normally sell items on the forum and accept only Paypal gift as a payment. I accepted a regular paypal payment from a buyer as I have dealt with them before although they were impatient and rude in messages prior inquiring why I was selling the same item twice as I had multiples. I even shipped them the previous items for free and took a loss doing so. I have a new transaction with them for a Nemesis Prime loose for $45 shipped and It has been less then 3 business days since payment and I was waiting for the money to transfer so I could ship them their item as I have no extra money to ship the item and would be using the buyers own money to ship the item. I informed them that I was waiting for the money to transfer to ship and now they are demanding a refund now and there are no funds in paypal as they are transferring and I do not wish them to file a dispute and mess up my paypal account. Hence why I usually only accept Paypal Gift eliminating the threat of a problem buyer.

What is it I can do? I have not ignored them and have responded to every message within minutes of receiving them.

I have had over 100 transactions on this board with no issues and do not wish that to start now.

I would appreciate a little input.

Tell him to chill the fuck out, ship it as soon as the money transfers, and slap a tracking number on the transaction.

After that, pretend like the dude never existed.

Appreciate your response. I was kind of thinking about issuing a refund but would like to complete the transaction as I need the money.

This guy has been a issue now in 3 transactions each one where he came out ahead on me.

Why should you have to issue a refund. If he files a dispute then tell paypal you are waiting for the money to clear.
Why should you be screwed out of money because he's a dick.

But as TJ said - afterwards ignore the fuck outta him

    "Gotta get dat paper."

Dag, you sent a G2 OP and BIS set to HI for $25 shipped? Bless your heart.

Tell him you are waiting for the money to clear, chill out, the shit will be sent out, with a TRACKING NUMBER, as soon you send it. Then act like hes dead. You ignore him until he comes around, then double tap him.

You won't win with some people. It's a fact if you're buying and selling.

When you say waiting for money to transfer, are you saying the you were paid, but paypal placed a hold on the funds?

He explained it clearly: He was waiting for the money to transfer to his account so he had money to pay for the postage.

I can read what he said. You can see that I read what he said, when I repeated it in my question.

I suggest getting a paypal debit card. Its a mastercard debit card and you have access to your funds immediately. Doesn't cost you a penny to use it. That way the customer doesn't have to wait a week for something to ship and both parties are happy.

Paypal only holds money if there are pending disputes on an account, or if your an ebay seller with not enough feedback.

Since the OP was pretty detailed in his post, and didn't mention paypal holds or any other problems with his paypal account, I think it's pretty safe to assume that he just transferred it to his bank account.

I think I see where you're going with it, and that's whether or not he could've just bought the postage with the paypal funds, and that's only if he's using priority/express. First class normally ships in the same amount of time, and is quite a bit cheaper, so I'd guess that's why he chose to transfer before buying postage.

I need to do this myself. Seriously.

It's very handy TJ. I've had one for a few years now and it's very handy. Has a limit on atm (which is pretty standard for most cards) and can be used about anywhere. In fact I've only had it declined once and that was because paypal put a hold on it until they contacted me (to verify a purchase I made).

Not to start a big stink OP but you posted in the coupons thread a bit ago about making another purchase. The buyer could be upset after seeing these posts and wondering why you havent shipped. You might try to talk this out with him or just make sure to ship right away when the money is transferred. That way if a case is opened you can show proof of shipment, etc.

Paypal places holds on funds for a variety of reasons, most known only to Paypal. It doesn't always mean there's a problem with your account or you have a bad history.

Then refer to the second paragraph.

Nice man. I'm gonna go ahead and order one now.

I've already read the second paragraph. You're failing to make a point.

You keep saying you've already read something, but continue to post things that contradict that you did.

You saying there's no point is like saying dinosaurs never actually roamed the earth: Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they weren't there.

    You're not making any sense.

What is it that am I posting that contradicts what I've read? I asked one question, to the OP, not to anyone else.
