I think this may go without saying but, he's going to want to out-do himself. No sense in rehashing the same product.

I'm sure Megan's exaggerating. Why would they even tell her the exact budget anyway?

Wow, that's the quickest 180 I've ever seen on the boards.

Yeaaaaah. I wouldn't trust anything coming out of Megan's mouth (EXCEPT MY DICK YO). I'd say a safe bet for budget would be maybe $170 - $180M - just a bit more than the first one.

As long as the movie gets made in a manner condusive to a relavent story line, I'll be a happy camper. Regardless how much it costs to be made.

Sony refuses to confirm this, but the budget for Spider-Man 3 was reported to be the the most expensive film of all time. Estimates range from $350-$700 million. Listen to he story on NPR.org: 'Spider-Man 3': Why So Expensive? : NPR
None of use except the executives at Sony know the actual number, but I think that Spider-man 3 set the highest bar in terms of budget.
Regardless of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, regardless of the budget (which actors would not be told about), it should be much better than the first movie. That matters more than how much is spent.

    Well, I doubt it: Spider-Man 3 (2007) - Box office / business
The most expensive is At World's End with $300 million.

it's really a shame they spent so much money on it, because it was universally disliked.

    Spider-Man 3 and POTC3 both had $300 million budgets.

However SM3's marketing budget was an additional $200 million because for the 2 weeks before the movie was released, they transformed New York into a Spider-Man celebration. They had all kinds of Spider-Man or Spider-related festivities going on including a Spider exhibit at their museum, Spider-Man banners which were all over the streets, etc.

    I'd say $200 to $225
