IGN: Megan Fox on Transformers 2

Twice means close to $300 million.
Only AT WORLD'S END had this record.
I wonder how much stuff Bay will blow up with such amount of money!

Wasn't the first budget for the first movie over $100 million?

And I thought the sequel would cost much less?

im thinking twice the budget is a little much. but with bay, we know that whatever he has will go to good use. we can pretty much bet on twice as much robot screen time.

    Twice the budget???? Holy shit.

Damn, I hope the ratio of human to TF screentime DRASTICALLY increases then...

I really hope they don't waste valuable GB space on CGI we don't see, like Ironhide's 10,000 part guns that we don't see all of 30 seconds of.

From what i remember it was hinted at being 200mil or there abouts. Maybe a little more but i don't think they got 300mil for the budget.

Though if the scenes are longer, concluding to a much longer movie than the prequel. Plus the new additions of new brands and characters, it's only logical that the sequel could be a larger budget than the first.

I think Megan might not know the exact figure and was just saying something off the top of her head.

As I recally, Bay said of the mega budgets of Spider-Man 3 and Pirates 3: "I don't even know how you can spend that amount of money."

they would have to insure a fair amount of things, actor's salaries may have increased(as they usually do in sequels), larger effects budget... i could see maybe 200-250 million, 300 seems a little excessive. then again you have to take into account inflation and variable economy....

Historically, successful movies get a slight bump in budget for the sequel, but I couldn't fathom anything more than around $200 million dollars. But seeing as the models for the Transformers in the first movie do not change, you're only creating new models for your new characters. All old characters will retain the same CGI models, thus saving quite a big chunk of a new budget right there.

Being said, I could see another $151 million budget for the sequel and still have it kick ass.

Just hope the budget was big enough for them to be able to trade in shakey cam for a good camera this go round :D
