    Just a follow up...

    From Reuters (via Yahoo.)

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Australian newcomer Rachael Taylor and "Prison Break" star Amaury Nolasco have been cast in "Transformers," the live-action adaptation of the 1980s Hasbro toy line of giant robots that morph into cars, trucks, planes and ships.

Tyrese Gibson is in negotiations to join them in director Michael Bay's DreamWorks project. Already cast are Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Jon Voight and Bernie Mac.

Taylor will play Maggie Marconi, a codebreaker at a think tank. Nolasco and Gibson are Army officers.

"Transformers," which has a July 4, 2007, release date, is scheduled to start shooting this month in Los Angeles.

Taylor was in town only three weeks when she booked her role. She appeared in the feature "Man-Thing" and played Catherine Oxenberg in TV's "Dynasty: The Making of a Guilty Pleasure."

Nolasco is best known for playing Wentworth Miller's cellmate in Fox's cult hit "Prison Break." He is currently in theaters with the comedy "The Benchwarmers."

Gibson most recently appeared in "Annapolis." Other feature credits include "Four Brothers" and "Flight of the Phoenix."

This is a pretty big name cast. I'm impressed. Still...it's Bay, and it's written by the guys that did M:I3...don't expect to be able to hear well after the film is over.

Awesome. I like Sucre in Prison Break. I'd say they're doing a pretty good job with casting humans so far.

That would make for some really, really shitty CGI mouth movements. I hope they pull a Shrek and cast the VAs very early on to map everything perfectly.

they don't have to have final CGI robots before they film... most CGI is done post-production, other than initial design, like geting realistic movements and wireframes done...

Mmm, no. "Filming" refers to the actual live action filming - not the cgi bots added in afterwards. Voice actors will have been cast and had their lines recorded before any robot mouth animation is done.

Hey! Shut up! I can have a completely ignorant opinion if I want! I know the CGI is done after principle filming. All I meant was, which I didn't explain at all really. I'd like the VAs cast before hand and any animation (anything beyond wireframe, I mean) is done with them in mind. I found it adds to the personality. Granted, I don't need Optimus Prime to have a slouch, or Jazz to twiddle his fingers... Just... Shut up you guys!

Besides John Turturro this is my favourite casting so far.

Prison Break and Amaury Nolasco rule.

    That is all.
