Primus (not really) confirmed for the movie-verse...

In Tales of the Fallen Issue 4, The Fallen specifically refers to the Dynasty of Primes as the Children of Primus...

Yes, this may be an IDW only attribute, but the IDW comics are generally assumed to be at least 'partially' related to the full movie verse, if not fully canon.

This also makes things all the more confusing because this happens only a few pages after the Allspark supposedly speaks exclusively to the Fallen, throwing a twist that it may infact have connections to an 'evil' sentience, rather than just Primus! (Take a guess who that could be...)

Will Primus appear in Transformers 3? I kind of doubt it, personally. But this is still a very notable event...

    Let the speculation begin.

Oh, man!!! The movieverse just keeps getting better. I hope Primus is at least mentioned in the 3rd movie, if not a main character. :D

i think it's likely a throwaway comment that will have no bearing on the third film, or the movieverse in general outside the comic line.

if Primus does make it into the film, i'd bet IRL money it'll only be as the most fleeting of references to slip into as "oh my primus!" or "thank primus!" rather than a keystone of the plot.

This really isnt "confirmed" per say and though it is in the comics, we have seen many times that doesnt translate to being in the movies

But it is confirmed if it's in a comic book. Just because it's not in THE MOVIE doesn't mean it's not in the movieverse. The comic books are extensions of the movies, they are the same characters/designs/plot-line.

Nice little nod, but I hope that's all we got from Primus for now.

I speculate that like all IDW canon, this will be contradicted within a year at most.

This could easily be contradicted, but it will probably never be something that can be totally ignored. Whether or not this Primus is the "same multi-universe entity" confirmed to exist elsewhere, this makes it clear that he exists in some form for the movie characters.

Besides, while the IDW comics do get messy in relations to the plots of the real film, they generally have provided mostly accurate backstory so far.

Again, this doesn't mean that Primus (or Unicron) will be in TF3, but it does suggest that at least one of them can be said to exist related to the movie characters.

He's confirmed for the IDW-verse at least.

    Confirmed for movie-verse, not movies.

I certainly hope not. The same goes for Unicron. I just really don't want them in the movie-verse. There are plenty of much more interesting stories to tell. Falling back on Unicron just seems a bit uninspired and, quite frankly, lazy.

Everyone knows the comics just get ignored in the big screen movies. If they keep mentionig things from the comics in the movies, people get confused because hardly any of the casual audience would go out and buy the comics.

That's not completely true. They could've squeezed in a few elements from the movie tie-ins without much confusion. In fact, I kinda wish that they had.

Not necessarily. Movie-verse canon exists only as much as the movies acknowledge it exists. Case in point, Arcee from Reign of Starscream into...whatever you want to call her in ROTF ;)

This is most likely the case, IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Primus related MacGuffin though. Something like "The Book of Primus" or something like that. Could be something that would require some travel to Cybertron to try to find.

Except that example doesn't hold up. There's no conflict between Reign of Starscream and ROTF in terms of Arcee. Chronologically, the Arcee triplets were in Alliance, which takes place before ROTF and after RoS.

Add that to the fact that Mowry said that the Arcee Tales of the Fallen spotlight will explain how she went from one robot in Reign of Starscream to 3 robots in Alliance and ROTF. There never was a story conflict, just an unexplained gap that will be explained shortly.
