Is Primus considered an Autobot and Unicron a Decepticon? I am making my own replacement for the omega lock that didnt come with my $15 Primus. it shaping up to be pretty sweet but i want to put faction symbol on it, but i am not sure what to put. It doesnt make sense to me that he would be on a team, but rather want both teams to unit in peace. So i was thinking to maybe do one of each? but lets here the board thinks. Remember, this is only for the omega lock replacement, not the figure.

He created all Transformers, no faction symbol.

Why does the Toy come with an Autobot key then?

No faction. He is the creator of all Transformers, not just the Autobots.

Because Hasbro marketing. They always lump Unicron in with the Decepticons too.

Ironically (or not ironic, whatever), Primus' next of kin in the god line was The Last Autobot.

Depends which origin you want, as Hasbro has many.

    Primus created the 13.
Megatronus betrayed Primus and the other 12, becoming The Fallen and a servant for Unicron.
That is the root of the conflict amongst the Transformers, dating back to the very beginning.

    OR

    Primus created the 13.
Megatronus betrayed and became The Fallen.
Nothing happened for a long time.
Political distress caused a Transformer to take the name "Megatronus" and begin an uprising to end the social disparity between the classes, and to this day is known as "Megatron" ... and his followers became "Decepticons", using violence as their way of fighting back against those who they thought oppressed them.

I don't like either origin to be honest. The simplest one is the Quintesson one - they were all created to be sold, one as military, one as consumer good. Military became Decepticons, consumer good became Autobot. Ta-da.

Primus made the Cybertronians before there were fractions, so neither. He has the key cause of marketing.

Both Bots and Cons worship Primus. I did remember some generic Cons in WFC say "Thank Primus, you're here!" Also the Covenant of Primus is basically the Cybertronian bible in which basically every Megatron coveted.

    Primus created all the Transformers.

Unicron will eat all the Transformers... kinda makes factions feel petty and insignificant...

Primus is an Autobot, Unicron is a Decepticon.

Technically speaking I guess they're both faction less. The Omega Lock doesn't actually have any faction symbols on it and he should of come with one. You should just e-mail Hasbro and get them to send you one sense yours wasn't included. It could be a packaging error unless you bought it loose then don't do that.

He is neither. His creations split into two factions that he has no part in. He seems to support the Autobots because their motives more closely reflect his own. The Decepticons. being misguided, support their version of the devil (Unicron).

I will say neither as well. The Autobots and Decepticons were created under him. He is one the good side of a much more large scale, more moral and less political conflict with Unicron.

Don't bother. The line has been dead for over 6 years. They don't have spare parts sitting around for lines long over. Just hope you find one on ebay, on the Junkion Exchange, garage sale or luck making your own.

    well ... none really ...

but in marvel continuity they were all autobots until megatron made the [strike]destrons[/strike] decepticons. so he maybe could be an autobot.

as far as quints go ... i like to think they speeded up the cybertronian evolution by enslaving them and rebuilding them.

He created the cybertronians that later became Autobots or Decepticons for whatever reason so I would say neither

In TVtropes language, I believe Primus is True Neutral.

To be more precise, Primus is on neither side. He prefers to keep himself out of the Wars of the cybertronians [why is a litle hard to tell: Maybe he can't bring himself to kill one of his beloved Cybertronians, maybe he thinks that using his powers to aide one side could create an oppressive government, maybe he thinks his powers must only be used for creation instead of destruction, the list goes on], his only goal is the survival of the race [or the universe, if things escalate].

However, when things go awry [i.e Unicron], Primus will probably go Neutral, No Longer and aide the side of good directly due the sheer size of the threat.

In a hilarious irony, Unicron has a similart worldview. Being something of a Neutral Evil guy, he seems to not give a damn to either side unless it benefits him in some way [such as Galvatron, who is a useful servant], and only intervenes in the War when some personal matter of his is in the line.

Very well stated, I think this pretty much sums it all up.
