Biggest "WTF?" moment ever for me. Found today in Dracik store in Bratislava, Slovak Republic for price lower than TLK deluxes.
Just for the record, this is not entirely unprecedented, this figure is also listed at El Corte Ingles from Spain and Wohi from the Netherlands, and was also listed at Otto Simon (also Netherlands), but has since been removed: Figura Titan Return Primitive Optimus Transformers 5: El último caballero Transformers Primitive Optimus Prime Sdcc Transformers Privitive Optimus Prime SDCC | Otto Simon B.V. The packaging is US standard, so it's an import, but it might be a Hasbro-initiated import, which is why the barcode would be of interest.
I noticed the whole back is a giant sticker covering original back and there is Transformers Authentic logo printed on it. 5 010993 425266 0617 C1730 E49
EAN barcode sticker with a Hasbro-specific EAN barcode (currently, all Hasbro EAN barcodes begin with 5010993) would imply an official Hasbro-initiated import. 5010993425266 is also the EAN barcode for the Netherlands listings, which is different from the Spain listing (5010993393633) for whatever reason.
Yup, 24.99 EUR. Seeing it next to a 15 EUR tiny legion Dragonstorm or 48 EUR simplified and unpainted RID Menasor is a killer moment.
So in conclusion, this is an official, Hasbro-imported release which comes in US packaging but is converted for the European market via Hasbro-applied stickers on the packaging. EDIT: Allspark member The Wadapan confirms that the figure is also available at El Corte Ingles stores in Spain, for 40 Euros: Primitive Skateboarding Optimus Prime, now appearing in... Europe? - Page 6 - Transformers Discussion - The Allspark Forums
Man I still need one but I’m in the US. There aren’t any online stores based in these countries that might stock them and have international shipping are there?
Which is why when Americans are halfway through a line you'll see headlines like "Wave One Finally Found in Europe".
This just reminded me, shouldn't the SDCC exclusives for this year be revealed by now? Or was it just an earlier than usual reveal last year?
So an SDCC exclusive from 2017 is showing up at European retail for a bargain price almost twelve months after selling out on hasbrotoyshop. Where is this stock coming from, again?
You know, if they had this much trouble selling these, I highly doubt there will be anymore SDCC exclusives for a while. Seriously, put it back up on HTS for this price and it would sell pretty well.
One more weirdness I found when I finally got to opening it - there is a black sticker on the front that covers the intended age category.
