    Didn't quite catch exactly what your "pet peeve" was but perhaps I used the wrong characters in my comparison. I think the faceplate gives Prime a mysterious aspect to his persona. Of course we all know who Prime is and what he stands for. But I'm sure opposing characters in the story would wonder exactly who is the man (or in this case robot) behind the mask. And I still think that aspect brings an edge to him.

    A mask brings mystery to a character which can be interpreted as darkness, depending on who the onlooker is.

    It's the same reason why Spiderman is always seen as a "menace" because he wears a mask...

    Not that I care or anything... but the flames are much worse than the lips, IMO.
    And you saw how they treated feedback on those flames...

    Please please PLEASE get rid of the lips! There's no reason for them, they look completely out of place on Prime. Just give us the faceplate for the whole movie, and I will be ever so happy.

    Please, no lips. The facemask is Optimus Prime. Adding a mouth really takes away from the image of Prime.

    if there was nothing i could do about it i could live and be happy with prime lips but if its a choice i got to go with the face plate all the time, its much more prime like to me even if it is a alt universe prime.

    I didn't like the lips. I always liked how Prime was different from Megatron in that respect. The faceplate makes him look like a knight in shining transforming armor. With a gun. I remember as a kid I wondered what it looked like underneath that plate but now that I can see it, I'm not impressed.

    IMO lips are unnecessary on Prime...
    In alternative, instead of removing the whole mouthplate as seen in the trailer, I'd like more a "gimmick" similar the ones seen on Optimus Primal/Cybertron Optimus: keep the mouthplate, just let it open it a bit to expose the mouth.

    Something looked very awkward about that mouth and something has to be changed at least. Maybe it was too low or it just needs the faceplate but either way it's going to look peculiar to audiences nationwide, no matter how anatomically correct it is.

    So, 'plate it, it's easier and'll shave some time off animation anyways.

    No lips! Prime's battle mask is too iconic, it suits him, and it's what the average viewer who isn't a TF fan remembers.
