Anyone else feel that with each release of a new Prime that has a truck for altmode, there's a need for a trailer? I mean even on the road a truck without a trailer doesn't feel right.

Although, I love kitbashing etc, sometimes I wonder why oh why didn't it come with one? Its more cost effective etc but here's why I started this thread: How many of you agree a Prime's truck alt mode should always have a trailer?

G1 always needs a trailer but movie and prime don't need one since we usually see them without them. That's my thought.

I would maybe one day like to see a revamped Powermaster Prime with modern engineering. That turns into a truck with trailer without any partsforming. But make it a supreme class or something so the size of the truck isn't compromised...

Entirely unlikely, but I can dream.

And yes, I agree. Prime in alt mode with a trailer is always better looking. But I don't really keep any of my figures in alt mode, so it doesn't matter to me either way.

I see very little need for a big, dumb box just for Optimus to pull, no matter how many gimmicks they cram into it.

Yeah. Storage and display space. Sigh. I wish I have a man-cave.

I display Primes (truck) in alt mode. Especially If the truck itself looks awesome. I'd buy two Primes just to display em' in both modes.

What if we got a trailer that actually transforms into a robot? A giant kibbly awkward robot. Or, just make a dragster with detachable front wheels and giant plates or better yet a mini-con/cyberverse play set.

He doesn't need one, but I wouldn't say no to one. Especially if it actually transformed into something.

    Maybe like Maketoys?

Which reminds me I need that trailer. Screw the fugly bot mode. I can't explain it but there's something so iconic about Prime in alt mode with an awesome trailer.

Armour is so cliche. How long has it been since he had a decent trailer base?

Armour is not a bad idea since most fans display in bot mode. Call it a compromise from each side.

The votes are almost always half-half. Amazing.

Not until his trailer has a gimmick besides holding stuff.

I only want trailers if it turns into a jetpack or weapons base or something... AND if it's not simple to do like the Takara Voyager DOTM Prime w/ trailer that just opened from both sides, the end.

I voted "no" because I don't think it's mandatory, but I do like trailers. But they have to do something. Just a straight empty box is boring and a waste of space.

How about the trailer transform into a nice looking display panel like iGears teletran 1 background or something. This way it can be displayed that way as well as with the trailer.

I believe his main toy doesnt need it, but a later release could. kinda like how DOTM did it-Prime early, Prime w/ trailer later.

If it does something like Powermaster Optimus Prime, then yes.
    Other than that, no.

They should really only release ONE with a trailer since there are most likely more than one mold for the same Prime design, but only if he has a trailer in the show/movie/comic/book

no. he does not always need a trailer.

did he keep a trailer on cybertron? probably not.

and, blasphemous as it may sound....I don't think Motormaster needs a trailer either so long as he's got the imposing stature.....sure, the cab + trailer makes the entirety of Motormaster...but I would rather he have a larger alt than a trailer.
