So I'm doing this "Art every day" thing that I started. Sunday and Monday I took pictures, photos are up in the Supah Cleah and Cool Stuff threads in TF Toys Discussion.

But today, because I worked until 6pm and had nearly an hour and a half drive home, I decided to sit and draw. Thought I'd keep with the Prime theme I had with the pictures and draw a toy I don't have yet, Starscream.

Anyway. Simple headshot, but it takes me far longer to do these than say a comic book professional.

Comments and Crit appreciated as always.

Oh, and every day's art venture is vlogged and will be up on my YouTube channel hopefully on a daily basis. So a time-lapse of myself drawing this should be up either tomorrow or Thursday.

EDIT: Tomorrow, Thursday... a week from now. Either/or.

Finally got to editing and uploading the short vlog with a time lapse of the drawing. Easily a learning experience, as in next time I do this I'll film from the left side. Filming from the right and being right-handed doesn't work too well.

    Very nice clean work.

His face in general and his jaw in particular is stronger than the animation
model. I see it with it's blue tone and think TFP: Thundercracker.

That is a good thing in my book.

He looks a bit more stout then the animation model. The jaw being a bit more firm, the whole shape more defind, the smaller head crest. But little accuracy nitpicks I have are nothing, because it is great artwork.

That's really cool, I like it a lot. I'm not terribly familiar with TF: Prime, so this reminds me a lot of an EVA unit's head, which makes it even cooler.

Is that pen and ink with colored pencils?

Oh trust me. Even after drawing it, I have my own nitpicks (like his expression).

    Thanks
    Thanks
Thanks. I'll have the video up soon and edit that into the first post, which is a time-lapse of my drawing it. I have mechanical pencils with blue and red lead, which I use mainly for drawing. I ink with Micron pens. I decided to use the blue and red pencils to add some color, rather than how I typically use them. And the two shades of grey are 2H and 2B mechanical pencils.
    Thanks

Thanks. That's a real honor from someone in the industry.

I spent a long time wanting to pencil, only to get stuck working a 9-5 to pay bills and all that.

Part of what I'm trying to do with my Art Every Day deal is to kickstart that passion back in me. Even if I don't have the same love for comics as I used to, it doesn't mean it's the end as far as a career in concerned. Or that I should have stopped drawing entirely for the better part of the past 4 years.

Starscream looks 'nicer' in your work that he usually does. :D

Nice pencil work! :thumb  Keep'em coming.
