That grainy look I see on so many customs is from sanding correct? This is a great paint job, but I'm just curious

That is a really, really good idea. Looks great too. Nice paint job.

Because its 2 pains in the ass to paint? I think this looks really good. I really like this better as some sort of other character really. Wheeljack was more convincing to me as a scientist than a Mary Sue sword wielding Fury Warrior.

I love this mold, but I have painted it and it is a huge PITA to paint. Too many nooks and crannies by far.

It was probably coated in matte or flat clear, which is why it looks that way. Cool concept, I like this mold with a different color.

You just gotta know how to pose it when you paint. If you do it by hand, yes, it will be a pain in the butt. But if you have it in car mode, base coat it, mid transform it, base coat the rest, retransform to vehicle mode, finish the paint by hand or airbrush/sprays, then transform to bot mode and do the remaining details by brush, its a very forgiving mold when transforming for painting it.

As far as this custom goes, i think it looks fabulous! great work. I for one love how blue looks on this guy
