Do any of you find that the Transformers Prime designs are similar to the movie line? I know I think so. So that is why when I buy Transformers Prime toys I'll just pretend that they are from the movie. Example: I'm planning on getting the Vehicon and Soundwave when they come out. I will include them with my universe Ultra Onslaught. So in the movie I will deticate them to Beast Machines characters.

    Onslaught: Tankor

    Vehicon: Thrust

    Soundwave: Jetstorm

They fit in with movie toys just about as good as Animated figures do, imho (aka not at all).

I was thinking the same thing... except WFC Bee instead (cos his face is slightly tougher looking or something)

I tend to think that Prime is what you get if you crossed Animated with Movieverse.

Pretty much. It's got the sleeker, curvier body lines and proportions of Animated, but the more complicated aesthetic of the movies form the bulk of the details.

I like prime designs while I generally dislike the movie aesthetic, which suits me fine as I can spend mor on prime toys and buy very few movie toys.

I really don't see much "Animated" influence in the designs since they were extremely exaggerated in proportions which the Prime designs aren't. TF Prime feels like the characters are modified and simplified movie designs. Kind of like Movie mixed with CHUG. I suppose the Animated part would be their facial expressions and mouths. Either way, I really dig the look of it a whole lot more than Animated. Prime feels a lot more mature which is also appealing than Animated's never-ending cheap jokes from BB and other characters.

    You sound like Grouchy Smurf...

    Bonecrusher? Is that you?

Huh, I never thought of that. Now I'm going to have to try it...

I think Prime is just different enough design-wise from Movie and Animated to not fit in with either of them. I like it as its own thing.

Not to crit anyone but Animated pretty much sucked monkey butt compared to Prime, simply cause of one character Bumblebee,he was the number one reason I hated that show with his weekly teen angst and overbearing attitude. To me Bee shoulda been blasted to bits by Starscream or Megs in the first episode.

Now as for Prime Bee he appears to be more mature than his predecessor and kicks way more butt too,but for An. Bee he was all talk and no action basically. So in closing hands down that TFPrime just annihilates Animated IMO.

So going by this logic because you prefer a SINGLE character direction over another, its superior in every way?

So I can say that Animated Prime was a much better character than Prime Prime, so Animated destroys Prime?

    Yes?

Anyway the running joke is Bayformers Animated, and its not too far off from the truth. I for one eat up all the designs like candy. I don't like I dislike a single one so far.

I love the designs so far. It's amazing they actually managed to translate them into toys! I'm definitely holding off on DOTM so I have more money for Prime toys. Sure, they are movie-esque in the bodies, but I really love the faces on the characters more than movie faces. :D
