Seriously, did Hasbro decide to cock-block the fans of its (currently) most popular show or what? I have heard literally 1% about Prime and that 1% was the clip of
    Shockwave
. What the hell's going on?

That's pretty messed up to not include their main tf show at this time with a panel.

They probably skipped having a Prime panel because that chinese convention that showed the breakdown toy and WFC Starscream toy had one, that was when that Nemesis Prime clip was leaked.

Yeah, that seemed odd to me as well. Especially since Prime is the big thing right now.

It seemed like the whole convention was focused on FOC, which is cool and all, but IT ISN'T HERE YET.

My limited understanding of such things leads me to believe that it's increasingly common for Genre based TV shows and Movies to have d├ębuts or reveals or some kind of panel at the major comic conventions.

So that may be the case with PRIME too. Hasbro may well show up at the Convention or Conventions with the intention of placing more of a focus percentage on the TV show at that event than they choose to at Fan (toy) convention.

Though perhaps if you bare that in mind it might be better to ask if the Transformers Videogame reveals should generally be saved for the likes of E3 ?

Likewise perhaps they might feel they'd get a more positive response for Rescue Bots related news at something like a Licensing event where they don't get neckbeards sneering at the "Little Kiddies show" they get suits looking to exploit the IP to make money instead.

They seem to be holding toy stuff back - I wonder if they are deliberately trying to give Takara the chance to sell their stuff to the International marker 1st buy giving the Western fans the impression that many of the products will remain exclusive to the Micron arms line.

Kind of 'buy a Takara Rock-Unicron; as he's the only one there is going to be" - type of attitude (true or not).

And if they hold back Breakdown, Unicron and some other stuff till later in the mean time people might have already bought the Takara one.. but still might buy a Hasbro one once they see there is a non-stickered option for it.

Last year's Botcon was pretty much dedicated to Prime. No clue what happened this year.
