To be honest I find it hard to even look at the current design. The flames are just... ergh... and there are "bits and pieces" scattered around that make him look littered on, which also drives me nuts.

    So I made some alterations.

If this was the Prime we were getting, I'd be seeing this movie for sure. Somehow he even looks more Truck-like...

That's poor reasoning. When just about any fan redesign of the characters seems to be more aesthetically pleasing, there's a serious issue with the designs.

There is a sequel after all, and probably still time to redo the CGI models. That's the cool thing about CGI, you can easily modify the core model at any time. This colour scheme could be implemented by having gradients between the red and blue in truck mode, or different(smaller, less tacky) flame patterns.

I honestly don't see why anyone likes the flames. I remember a couple of months ago people were unanimously against it.

Wow, you really think they could change the flames at this point? Sorry, NOT going to happen, there has been too much money and work poured into it (ESPECIALLY with the toys and marketing).

And I don't know about the others, but the flames bother me less because the movie isn't exactly G1 anymore, and because it looks good on him (never thought I'd say that). Movie Prime in that colorscheme looks, well, bland.

I will not mention the INNUMERABLE times that toys have been digibashed into superior color schemes, but, for the hell of it: C-Galvatron, Classics Megatron, Cybertron Defense Hot Shot/Scattershot, etc...

And that's just off the top of my head.

what you guys are conveniently forgetting is that what we almost ended up with was this:

michael bay changed it BECAUSE THE FANS WANTED RED AND BLUE, and not just a blue prime.

I think that would have made a nice ultra magnus, But Like I said flame's is better, appeals to general audience's......kids Love, fire/ flame's.....I know I did when I got my collection of hot wheel's when I was little.

And to the color gradient issue's....no shapeshifting, no dissapearing part's, no color change, nothing, its all their. But hey....for some reason, you can awlways tell it's prime, just by his build.

Your version looks good, but I prefer the new style better. I'm kind of tired of red always having to be above the belt and blue below...

I like it... maybe a darker blue on the legs, but a good job none the less. I'm not a fan of the flames myself, I don't see the point...

I can still see flames on the legs, they just look darker blue. lol.

But meh, these colors don't work. And so you don't say "poor reasoning", here:

that is not at all unifying, with the flames we can have a little blue from the bottom help keep the red from becoming monotonous, and plus it helps to keep all the pieces be more cohesive, with the traditional colors we get, like others have said, bland.

I don't think that scheme will even work. Now, I'm not gonna claim to know exactly how this guy transforms, but judging from the few vehicle parts on him I can recognise, if here were coloured like that he'd end up looking like a bizarre and horrible mix of randomly blue and red bits in vehicle mode. So, like them or hate them, the flames were used for a reason, so that the fanboys can get at least some blue on his legs and not ruin the vehicle mode.
