Update: added pinstriping to the flames.

Finally got around to doing the headlights. I used 3mm leds, the headlight shroud is less than 4mm across so there's not much to work with.

He now has 20 LEDs in total: 5 on each sword, 4 headlights, 2 in the chest, 1 in the head and the 3 from the mechalive thing.

The headlight LEDs could use some red paint around the back edge. I need to replace one of the chest LEDs it duller and a different blue to the other one.

Wow man, this thing is just getting better and better. I'm hoping your keeping this one and not selling it! By the way, how did you darken the windows on his chest, it really looks like tinted windows now instead of that matte painted look some have.

Thanks mate. There's no way I'm selling this one. That is DIY automotive window tint, thats why it really looks like tinted windows :)

Smooth as heck! Two more questions, do you think you can do the side windows too so it matches with the front window? This is non-transformable right? Why keep the silver steps on the side of each leg? It sticks out a bit i find, but that's a minor detail.

The side windows are already done, in most of those pics they are reflecting the white walls of the photo box. Pic 3 and 6 show them clearly.

I thought about removing the toolboxes but I'm not sure. I'll photoshop some pics to see what it looks like first.

I would suggest using LEDs smaller than 3mm if you can find them. There's a very good chance of destroying the red chest pieces.

looking at these LED lights Mods-- man.. I am tempted to do that to my TF bots :) ...but I guess I will still have to learn the "re-painting", weathering, dry brushing techniques firsts :)

I took off my toolboxes today and love it. Of course I'm placing a panel over it similar to the panel in the movie.

How did you attach your wheels/cut the mount to make it shorter?

Beyond awesome job with your prime!!!

I put the tip of a soldering iron on the pin to remove the wheels.

I unclipped his waist so I could extend his body up out of the way, then cut the mount with a hobby saw.

I'd like to see a pic of your toolbox panel when you're finished.

hey hakka, was wondering if maybe you could post a guide on how to make the mods on your prime, (I'm really interested on the arm panel armors you made that now makes him untransformable) are is there already one? ^^

All I did was cut the forearm panels off at the hinges, swapped the panels to the opposite sides and shaped them with a hobby saw. I just some scraps from another figure to raise the top of the panel away from the arm. I couldn't decide on the position for the smaller panels at the back of the arm so i put them on ball joints. Its all stuck on with 2 part epoxy.

I also cut the swords at the wrist and attached them to the back of the hands.

The shoulder armour parts are from a voyager Prime I had, same method as above, cut the hinges, shape the panels and find a tiny hinge if you want them moveable.

There is a thread on the forearm mod with more pics:

I'm at the part where you cut the mount........

did you cut it in half and reattach the mount together? Trim the mount down from the top and then drilled a hole that barely fits?

Here's a pic of mine without toolboxes
