Holy cow. It is absolutely gorgeous. After watching it in SD during broadcast and on my laptop in HD on iTunes...this is like seeing the show again for the first time. The colors and the amount of detail are just incredible.

I'm watching Convoy right now, and and I just now noticed that you can see the reflection of the gauges in Prime's cabin on his windshield. The chrome on the truck just shines. Hell, everything is crisp and clean.

I'd say fans of Prime should make getting the Blu-Ray set a high priority.

    Any other opinions?

FatalT, I've been contemplating the HD download from iTunes, but I'm a bit concerned as I suspect the quality is less than the Blu-Ray (and it costs $10 more).

Just to confirm, you can clearly see a difference between iTunes HD download vs Blu-Ray?

I believe he was talking about the difference between iTunes HD and the SD broadcasts he'd been watching before.

My bluray copy of the collection is currently winging its way across the Atlantic, and I for one can't wait :>!

I'm going to have to say that the Blu-Ray version is better. Admittedly, I've only watched the iTunes HD versions on my laptop, and I'm watching the Blu-Ray on my big screen - but - the colors and details that pop out in the Blu-Ray version put the iTunes downloads to shame.

Go Blu-Ray, I highly recommend it. The only reason you should download it from iTunes is if you want to have the episodes on the go with you, as I did (watch in the gym, put them on at work, let my daughter watch them in the car on my iPhone, etc).

It looks amazing on bluray. I'm enjoying Crisscross in 1080p HD right now.

You can rip and convert the videos from bluray's and take them on the go with you too without any quality loss.

This. I'd get BR, but it's just so much more expensive than DVD. I'm still sticking with DVD for now.

Do we know if the blu rays are region locked? It's not offered in the uk at all outside of dvd, and I'd hate to import it only to find my ps3 can't run it.

I think that BDs are not region coded. I have the old 1986 movie on BD and it's from Australia. Joe Moore might have some more info on that. Try PMing him about it.

Please be advised that the Blu-Ray IS marked as region locked disc to Region 1 players (USA and Canada). This is actually a fairly rare occurrence with Blu-Ray releases anymore. So please keep that in mind if you plan on importing.
