How bad do you guys think the prices will tank on the aftermarket when first edition prime toys are released again?

    Very badly.

Not only is TRU getting these, so is BBTS and Entertainment Earth. Anyone who wants one will be able to get one for MSRP... the aftermarket price will never be like it once was.

If this was only a TRU exclusive, maybe it wouldn't tank, but BBTS and EE will probably get tons of these. That instantly kills the aftermarket value when you have an online retailer with a good deal of stock.

Roufuss is right. If anybody was hoping to sell them for a profit they need to unload them NOW. There might still be some people out there willing to pay a premium because they're not aware the figures will be easy to find down the road. Might.

Regular 1st edition Cliffjumper is a wildcard now a days since he wasn't released world wide like with some of the other 1st edition figures, but other than him...It'll be while before we see the 1st editions go out of stock for a while when they get re-released

Good. I'm fine with profit but gouging is just ugly.

Pretty much this. I guarantee scalpers are getting a tad desperate to unload what stock they got left before the prices tank on them.

I wouldn't pay more than 5$ more than retail Canadian prices for any deluxes, including cliffy. They are pegwarming here like crazy.

    Rerelease? Please move on.

The Takara Prices won't dip so much I'd have thought. unless Takara reissue some too.

Yeah I support this thread & it's members reaction to scalpers.

Here's hoping the scalpers hoarders get stuck with so much FE Overstock. that they lose money on this ordeal.

These things are not uncommon at all here in Taiwan. FEs have been an easy find for months now. Some are shelf warming, but are mostly getting pretty picked over by now. One has to remember though that they were also released fairly regularly here, although in low numbers, the first go around.

Most DXs are averaging $25 or less, these days.

By the time a scal... errr reseller is done paying $15, or more + tax or gas, + shipping, plus Paypal fees, and maybe eBay fees, they're going to make the sum of Squat.

Only FE that has not gone down in price is Japanese Voyager Prime. All the rest have been pretty steady since the time JP Bulkhead got a re-issue.

Vehicons have scaled down to about 65 USD takara and sometimes 40 shipped for hasbro. Bumblebee is still pretty low, Arcee is around 20-25 or 40 depending on the version, Bulkhead has stabilized and Cliffjumper is at around 40-50.

Been casually collecting them, even managed to score a takara prime for much less than I thought [barely over retail], and I'm only missing the vehicon and DLX Megatron.

Hype has died down, and so will the prices, again.

I think there's still plenty of hype and excitement for these figures. It was always a collector aimed line of toys, and the collectors KNOW these are hitting retail again, so there's no real need to go apeshit on the secondary market right now. That's why you're seeing declines in purchases and prices on ebay and such, people are just waiting for retail.

Seems the only ones still kind of high are prime, bulkhead, and vehicon.

Could be a sudden restock, but long after being sold out, BBTS and robotkingdom got another shipment. That's how I got mine, from BBTS.
