Video Review of Beast Hunters Ultimate Predaking

Big Bad Dragon! A very cool version of Predaking from transformers beast hunters. Fantastic size and fun play pattern.
The weakest part of predaking is the lack of articulation in the dragon head and/or lack or a locking mechanism, Otherwise articulation is beast mode is fine. With a massive wingspan he is quite imposing.

Predaking has some really nice paint apps (see his thighs) but a lot of lacking areas too. Many moulded details are lost due to lack of paint.The budget has gone the the wings with I suppose is a required evil. He also has a bunch of cybertronian runes scattered all over him which is a really nice touch.

Articulation and robot mode is fairly good and mostly kibble free.

I do recommend this figure as the beast Predaking mold out at the moment.

Do you think it is possible to make some modification in the neck in order to gain more articulation? I was thinking about removing the internal spring (I am assuming there is one there).

I don't know... the toy looks good, but my preferred dragon is still the old RID Megatron... I wish Hasbro had got inspired by this old toy and had made predaking with design elements from it (like wings and neck)...

 

possibly but im not willing to mod it at this point.

 

i do still want this guy as hes huge and will look good with the other PREDS and CONS.

however.

I hate when every large transformer gets so simplified. like you mentioned, something with the dragon head for movement and tail could have been done.

also storing the dragon head in bot mode could have been done better due to the fact he is so big there should have been somewhere in his back to open or something.

and finally for me the wings. more movement and wish they sat higher in bot mode.

I actually like his wings low.

That said, this just cemented my belief that the Voyager is the best mold of Predaking.

Better than Prime for sure, but that transformation is a disgrace, and the Dragon head is a bit derpy looking up in the air constantly.

Bottom line is unforgivable simplicity. There is nothing to do with the conversion.

Not for me. You could have no idea thats even a transformer unless you know the show. I really don't like how the back legs look in Dragon mode. I think they could have done something more interesting, Like the voyager, To give that "slinky" weird rear legged look it SHOULD have..

Your alternate transformation in dragon mode looks pretty bad. The tail sits too high and doesn't flow anymore with the rest of the body and the rear dragon legs look awkward now, looking like long arched legs instead. The dragon head can be positioned down in his official configuration.

I wonder if there's a way to tweak his dragon head into staying in place. Hmmmm.... When I get one, I'll probably crack him open to see what I can do myself.

According to to the display at Botcon, Everything with "Predacon rising", including the entire set of cyberverse figures and this Predaking, are Target exclusives. I know it came up before at Toyfair and was said to have been an error and incorrect on their slides. But it popped up again at Botcon on the display cases.

 

Well dag. Being from Oxford, Mississippi, I have literally NO Targets nearby. Well, I guess I can always get the guy off of Ebay eventually. :L

thanks for the review! I sure hope we get to see some Beast Hunters toy in toy stores soon. ^^ And I cant help to notice the box says "Predacons Rising". Does it mean that a new wave will be released with the upcoming movie? O.O
