Another project I've had finished for a few weeks, but only now getting around to posting.

So, I loved the sculpt and size of the mainline deluxe Arcee, but that backpack was just too much for me. It was mostly the wings...the size didn't bother me so much, but more the angle they sat at, and they just looked inside out.

What I ended up doing was cutting off the entire front end, and mounting in to a metal pin. This allows the whole front assembly to rotate 180 degrees so the wheels faces down, and the windshield up. Then I cut off the wings at he hinge and attached them to another metal pin, which allows them to rotate 180 degrees. Like so:

The result allows the wings to sit much closer to the body, and appear to actually be connected to her back and not her back pack. I also feel the front tire and windshield piece seem to compact better. Still not perfect, but a huge improvement I think.

I then painted all her blue parts in MM True Blue Pearl, and mixed up a custom metallic pink for her pink parts. I didn't go all out and paint every little detail since I was already more than happy with what I had done.

I modded her gun to be smaller as well, but I plan on picking up fakerbusker's guns and blades from Shapeways, so I didn't put a whole lot of work into it.

Very pretty. You painted this well and the mod is ingenious. I'm satisfied with the stock transformation but for those that aren't this looks like a great solution.

Oh yeah you did it, someone finally did the mod that works. She actually looks really good now - AFTER I JUST PLOPPED DOWN THE SCRATCH FOR THE FE.

I still think the wings are too big, but not your fault. Great tutorial though, thanks!

It's impressive. I'm far more impressed however that you painted in those tiny, tiny eyebrows to perfection.

Where did you get the pins?

I'd suggest painting her exhaust pipes at least, and tail light perhaps.

    Thanks guys!

They're just left-overs from older Transformers and stuff. As for the pipes, they're nearly black in the show, so I left them....and just forgot about the tail lights. Like I said in the first post, I purposefully did not go into full show accuracy, I just wanted something that looked better to me.

Anyone thought of using the cyberverse arcee wings, the pins about the same size, for those with the skills it would be an easy swap,

One thing the fe arcee did right was the size of her wings as they filled out well in bike mold and were not too intrusive in not mode,
Rid wings to big, cyberverse wings too small for bike mode,
