Ok, so they combine right?

Maybe not in the way everyone is thinking...

We know that Jetfire is going to be portrayed as old (hunched over, using landing gear as a walking stick, etc). It's been rumored that this will be played up so much that Jetfire will have "trouble transforming" and have pieces falling off of him.

It's also been rumored that the merger may be permanent.

What if they don't so much "combine" in the typical sense, but rather Jetfire kicks the bucket towards the end and Prime "absorbs" Jetfire's remains after he dies?

Instead of a gestalt like Devastator, it's more like power-boosting armor... that just so happens to be made of an old man's corpse...

 

Cool idea, sounds possible. Though, what would Prime's alt mode look like after that?

I don't really like that idea.

Mostly because that's more like a Lockdown thing.

 

I envisioned it more as a:

"Prime honors Jetfire's memory by accepting his final gift. The only thing he had left to give... himself."

-type situation. One of those sappy, "please allow me to sacrifice myself to make you better, it's the only way you can win" moments.

 

I would be saddened if Jetfire dies in ROTF. I love old people.

It's just there was a thread just like this some months back. Everything that's been said so far, all up to dead Jetfire turning into Primes trailer, is exactly like it...It's just funny is all.

I got the idea when I was looking at the combined legends figures. I kept thinking that Jetfire just looked like something stuck to Prime rather than two beings merged into one.

Then that led into "might be permanent", and "Jetfire is old". Combine the three thoughts together and you get: Jetfire is old + Permanently merges with Prime + Looks more like Prime with Upgrades than a combiner = Jetfire dies and becomes an upgrade pack for prime.

The trailer thing never even occurred to me.

 

i would prefer jetifre didnt die and makes it back for movie 3 but i really doubt that will happen.....I dont like that idea tho....something similar is what i want......they combine, they fight, they get badly damaged and both of them will die unless one decides to give up his remaining power to the other so jetfire does the im an "old Warrior" claim "this bot has seen too many battles" in his old manish voice and sacrfices himself to save prime! thats what i envision.

well when i see the combined mode it tells all. jetfire is a robot with a backpack of power and when he dies pime takes his s-71blackbird pack and flies around fighting megs and the fallen and then he tries to kill starscream but he gets lennox and he drops him in mid air but springer(first showing in the movie) saves him and chases starscream then jetfire kills starscream in the air and makes a funny pun

 

Sorta like Highlander when Duncan has to kill Connor?

 

Prime could convert Jetfire's corpse into a trailer that he can combine with in TF3.

That would be badass.
