Seeing as my Classics Hot Rod disappeared in the Great Move of 2007, and seeing as FP will be releasing their new Rodimus Prime set next year, I've decided to take the plunge and get Henkei Rodimus! So far the cheapest I can find him is for £45 delivered (eBay, from the US).

So, is this the kind of price people expect to pay for him? It's a lot for a deluxe, more than I'd ever consider for other Henkei deluxes, but he is one of my favourite characters and a damn cool toy, and if that's a suitable price, then it's good enough for me.

There's actually very little difference between Classics and Henkei Rod besides the chest details and the chrome back fin. I don't know if Classics goes for cheaper but if it does you might just want to get that and some reprolabels

For 45 pounds, you can get 2 Henkei Rodimus if you're lucky.

Hmm, so it seems that I might be paying a little more than is warranted. I've looked through everything that's on eBay right now and a few websites, so I might just go for it. It seems that even a Classics rodimus will cost at least £30.....thanks anyway.

45 usd is a bit much imo, I got him for 20 and some shipping a couple months ago.

Is the key part of that sentence. Supply has since dried up, hence the increase in price.

Unfortunately, be prepared to pay. That's just the way it is.

Well, it's done now. I can only hope that it'll just get more expensive meaning that I can feel better about paying so much. I don't mind, cos now I can look forward to getting that making my autobot set up that little bit more complete!

Indeed it does. I saw some for $80, hell I saw one for £80! I think when the FP kit hits, it will go up in the same way Magnus did.

is the new FP kit designed to match the henkei colour scheme? i already have the henkei one, so i might pick up a second hand classics one for the FP armour if the colour matches.

When I was in Japan the cheapest Henkei Rodimus was $60 so over here it will probably run up around $75-100 at least.

Yea, this is what I was thinking as well. I have Henkei Rodimus already, but I wish I got a second one when he was cheaper. I don't want to mess up the shiny chrome on the figure when I try putting on the FP kit.

Got mine for £14 delivered in December 2008... £45 is laughable.

Indeed it is, but it's just the way things have gone. While looking for the damned thing, I saw some Kiss Players Rodimus going for a lot more than I payed for mine (£40 delivered, still a lot, but nowhere near as bad as the £80+ I've seen elsewhere).

I can't wait to buy some toy for a good price and get to feel good about it when the price skyrockets in the future.
