A friend of mine is willing to sell his classics Jetfire to me, the problem is the figure is completely "naked", no accessories whatsoever. How much is such Jetfire worth, and is it worth getting it at all in such a condition?

I've always said that its ONLY worth in how much you are willing to pay for it yourself. Which in your case your buying the figure so offer him what you would buy it if it was yours and you where sellin it to him.

I'd pay 5 dollars for a naked classics jetfire.

If I didn't already have Classics Jetfire, I'd rather pick up the Henkei. A local shop here has it for $45. Classics MIB could easily go for $60, and likely does go higher on eBay. I don't know though, I don't really check.

But this Jetfire doesn't even have the fast pack? Bare figure alone, I wouldn't go above $10, depending on it's condition.

Seeing as how someone can lose all of a figure's accessories, I don't expect they take very good care of a figure itself.

I got a loose Jetfire for around $10-$15 (forgot the exact price). It was complete, in good condition, and had all its accessories but the arm missiles. So yeah, I agree, I wouldn't pay more than $10 for a completely naked figure.

I would say $15 max, as the accessories really make the figure, IMO.

Id hold out for one with accesories. But if you do buy it...I wouldnt pay more than $10 for it.

By the way.....the Classics Skyfire is IMO one of the best Classics made!

If you wanna buy it then get his accessories you're not gonna llike what you find. The helmet is easily $5-$8 itself, The black guns $5-$8, each missile $2-$4 x2, the arms launchers that hold the missiles $4-$6 x2, the backpak, $7-$10 and that's all before you include shipping for the items. That's all assuming you'll find sellers for all of the items.

But the answer your question, I'd say $10 at the absolute max but I'd rather pay more like $6

I wouldn't bother unless you've got a kitbashing use in mind. You're going to need to find at least the helmet if you don't want holes in the jet mode, and that's surely going to be more trouble (and possibly more cost) than just buying a complete Jetfire.

I never understood how people lose parts of their figures unless they belonged to their kid first and they decided to sell them.

I snagged a classics optimus, megatron and jetfire that were all complete for $10 each off craigslist just last week. There are really great deals out there so don't settle if you don't have to.

Thanks for the help guys. I just wanted to see the general opinion on the matter, I knew from the start it was going to be a real chore to find the most important parts for the figure. I suppose I will be going the ebay route again.

PS. Do craiglist users do international deals?

Most craigslist users are reluctant to ship even within the US, but you never know! I'd say half the people I inquire about shipping agree to do it, but it can be risky. It never hurts to ask.

skyfire is a good mold, i prefer the henkei version myself as its more cartoon accurate. my classic skyfire has some bits missing too, guns and rockets. i bought it from ebay for around $37 together with classic ultra magnus and skywarp even though i only wanted ultra magus for the city commander kit. soon after i bought the henkei version. i now display the classics one with the hemlet and henkei one without.

I see great deals on Craigslist, but never have any luck with getting them to negotiate on shipping.
Found 2 MISB Sigma 6 Dragonhawks once for $35 (WOWZER!) and contacted the seller 3 times asking if they could ship.
    no replies. NONE.

On topic, i would not even bother buying a naked fig like that.
maybe at a garage sale for 2 bucks or less. but not this.
Save some green, scout everywhere from here to Evilbay and enjoy a MIB-MISB figure.

    $7 TOPS.

The accessories really add a lot to the figure.

If you have some ambition you could find a naked energon shockblast or sixshot and use the arms on jetfire and make a classics shockwave ;)

The arms are a great fit for a mashup.
