    No, not Sam's dog.

What are some of the games (particularly classics) that you used to be an utter badass at, which now you can't even get passed the first level?

I used to have Ghost and Goblins DOWN on the NES, despite hours and hours put into the game to achieve such ability. But now, when I try to play it on emmulator or on Capcom's classics, I can barely even get passed the first level.

The same goes for Ghouls and Ghosts, though I'm a bit better at that one. Another potential one for me is Zelda 2, though I have been relearning the ways on that one.

Mortal Kombat 3. I used to own that game when I was about seven, but I recently bought it on the 360 Arcade and I can't even beat Novice. :(

If you give me a few months it'll be Call of Duty 4.

Starsiege: Tribes was one game that went downhill for me. I use to be like an uber sniper in it. I could snipe people out of their scout ships and all sorts of crazy crap with that laser rifle, but now I'm just sloppy with it, I cant even do that disk launcher/land mine trick shot. I migrated over to Tribes 2 (like everybody else at the time) and that didnt help much either.

Mortal Kombat is the same for me. I used to own with Baraka and Raiden, and now I can barely win a fight without almost dying myself.

What version were you playing when you were seven? Home port to arcade original and MK3 to UMK3 are both considerable jumps in difficulty.

Pretty much any game I attempt I am much worse at it than I originally was.

    It's really sad and discouraging.

Most games I haven't played in a while I'm actually better at. The only exception has been Warcraft 3... I recently installed it again and I can't even beat the computer on Easy mode..

King of Castlevania 3 when I was...about 7 years old. Now, I'm lucky to get through part of the beginning. I figure that has mostly to do with how very rare it was for me to get a new game when I was that age so my brothers and I had to make due with what we had. Nowadays I can just jont over to Game City and pick up anything that suits my fancy.

I've recently started Super Metroid and Super Castlevania on the VC and wow, that was an ass kicking. At least the two have great music playing while I get killed... consistently.
