IDW Publishing has released their 5-page previews of titles shipping March 21, 2007, which contained the 2nd in a four part prequel story to the upcoming Transformers movie and another Transformers Spotlight, this time on Soundwave!

THE TRANSFORMERS: PRIME DIRECTIVE MOVIE PREQUEL #2 (of 4)

    Publisher:
    IDW Publishing

    Released: 03/21/2007

"THE MEGAMAN COMETH", Part 2 of 4
Before the movie opens in July, the only place to get a look at THE TRANSFORMERS of the live-action film is right here! The prequel extravaganza continues here, with “The Megaman Cometh.” MEGATRON is headed to Earth, in search of the ALLSPARK. But what he finds, and what this means for the ongoing war that’s come to our world, is something he never could’ve expected! Furman, Ryall and Figueroa continue the movie's official beginning right here! Featuring a special photo variant cover, too.

    Publisher:
    IDW Publishing
    Writers: Simon Furman
    Pencils: Marcelo Matere
    Covers: Marcelo Matere, Nick Roche
    Released: 03/21/2007

On the Movie prequel: Fives pages to establish the plot that was already laid down last issue...? I sense this will be another five-minute read from IDW (at most!)...:(

Spotlight: Soundwave is a direct follow-up to Spotlight: Shockwave. Cool. Another piece in the IDW-verse puzzle. :)

That two page spread of Megatron flying through space is awesome. I hope IDW puts that up as a wallpaper like they did with jet mode Thunderwing from Stormbringer.

Honestly, the most interesting thing I noticed from any of those previews is that Megatron is apparently a tank in the Soundwave spotlight. That alone might convince me to pick it up since I can't get enough of seeing Meg's in that form.

Megs looks awesome as hell. :3
The only thing I don't like is this "MegaMan" reference.. Can't stop thinking about the blue bomber whenever I hear it.. *insert MM music fanfare "BLASTER WEAPON GET!"*

Megs design appears to have changed in the preview pics.

It's the same form he had in Infiltration, Stormbringer and Spotlight: Shockwave.

You're in luck. Most of it [the pursuit] anyway -- there's other things in there as well.

Megatron : "I care nothing for Cybertron"

MAN, is this how the movie is depicting him? LAME, past incarnations have sacfrificed themselves to save cyvertron, others have given megatron almost a reverence for cybertron itself. but this one "Cares nothing" so far the film just keeps dissapointing.

G1 Megatron never cared for Cybertron. Hell, he left the place a desolate wasteland.

BW/BM cared more about the purity of the TF race then Cybertron itself.

Armada Megatron was the only Megatron *I* can think of that cared for Cybertron. Energon Megs didn't and neither did Cybertron (who let it get sucked into a black hole...)

    Good points there, Fwiffo.

Plus, keep in mind Megatron's after the only part of Cybertron that really matters - the Allspark.

It's like if Primus' spark complete with Vector Sigma was ejected from Cybertron and wandering through space - Cybertron would be moot.
