    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    By: Shirow Masamune

World War Three is over, but for nomad soldier Deunan Knute and her cyborg lover, Briareos, the greatest challenge lies ahead, not in the abandoned cities and DMZs of a post-war battlefield, but on the streets of a new "utopia." Shirow Masamune's visionary Appleseed is widely regarded not only as one of the linchpin works of graphic fiction, but one of the most influential science-fiction stories in recent memory, culminating in the astonishing 2005 animated adaptation. Appleseed Hypernotes, never before collected in America, features an over 80-plus-page Appleseed tale, plus reams of detailed information and art of the characters, machines, and weapons of Appleseed, presented in a non-Westernized, right-to-left reading format, as originally published in Japan.

    • Contains Appleseed stories from Super Manga Blast! #25-39.

    THE DEADLANDER #1 (of 4)

    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    By: Kevin Ferrara

    Part 1 of 4
Hot newcomer Kevin Ferrara blasts on the scene with The Deadlander-a wicked zombie tale about a supernatural killer escaping damnation . . . one bullet at a time!

In legend, the Deadlander is a ghostly outlaw shrouded in mystery. A weird gunslinger stalking the desert landscapes of Nevada.

But in reality Jacob Bierce is nothing more than a rotting corpse of a man, dead in more ways than one-a loner on the run from the law, turned into the living dead and controlled like a puppet by the sinister Bog Witch.

Now, as the witch's evil hold threatens to entrap him forever, the Badlander sets in motion a desperate plan to destroy the witch and regain his soul once and for all!

Gorgeous artwork in the best Wrightson-Frazetta tradition!

    THE WOLFMAN: HUNTERS MOON MMPB

    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    By: Michael Jan Friedman

Lawrence Talbot is the son of a family steeped in wealth and power. While on vacation in Europe his life was changed forever when he was bitten by a lycanthrope and cursed to walk the earth for the rest of eternity as an immortal monster driven by rage and an unstoppable hunger for human prey. No longer a man, not fully a beast, Talbot was one of the damned: a werewolf.

After apparently dying at the hands of his loved ones, Talbot awakes in the back of a car hurtling down a deserted road, evading gunfire from another vehicle in hot pursuit. The driver of his car gets him to safety and informs him the persons following them are from a heretical cult dedicated to the extermination of all those marked by the sign of the Wolf. As Talbot places his trust in the hands of these new friends, an order whose stated mission is to protect werewolves, and learns of the origins of the werewolf curse, he slowly starts to realize that he is actually in more danger than he could imagine and that his saviors have evil intentions all their own for him.

    • The Universal Monsters are, as a group and individually, among the most recognizable characters in horror and science fiction history and have a large built-in fan base.

    • Currently, horror is resurging in film with motion pictures such as Brotherhood of the Wolf and the Ginger Snaps series of films proving to be very popular.

THE NIGHTMARE FACTORY VOLUME 1 TP

    Publisher:
    Fox Atomic Comics
By: Thomas Ligotti, Stuart Moore, Joe Harris

"A fractured mind is often the way into a world not suspected by those of an innocent normality."

Enter the universe of renowned horror master Thomas Ligotti—a universe where clowns take part in a sinister winter festival, a scheming girlfriend makes reality itself come unraveled, a crumbling asylum's destruction unleashes a greater horror, and a mysterious Teatro comes and goes, leaving only shattered dreams in its wake.

In the tradition of Edgar Allan Poe and H. P. Lovecraft, Ligotti's sophisticated tales of terror take us to places few would suspect exist, where madness is only a thought away. The Nightmare Factory adapts four of Ligotti's most chilling tales into fine graphic literature by famed writers and artists Stuart Moore, Joe Harris, Colleen Doran (The Sandman), Ben Templesmith (30 Days of Night), Ted McKeever (Batman), and Michael Gaydos (Alias). Featuring all-new introductions to each story by Thomas Ligotti.
