CONAN AND THE DEMONS OF KHITAI TP Publisher: Dark Horse Comics Writer: Akira Yoshida Interior Artist: Paul Lee Cover Artist: Pat Lee King Conan travels to the far-eastern land of Khitai, only to run afoul of an evil sorcerer and his demonic retainers in this tale of silent shadow-warriors and ghostly monsters. Set many years in the future from the award-winning ongoing series, Conan and the Demons of Khitai marks Conan's first appearance as King in Dark Horse's best-selling comics revival of the legendary fantasy hero. When King Conan receives an invitation from the Eastern kingdom of Khitai to open trade in precious jewels and spices, he leads a small army into this long-mysterious land. Yet to do so is perilous, as those who have requested his company may have far more devious intentions, and beasts unseen by Western eyes lurk amidst the shadows. Acting as a kind of workshop for new ideas, the tiny paintings in The Jackson 500 Volume Two are spontaneous compositions that contain the buds of many of Biskup's recurring characters, themes, and color theories. With a fondness for mid-century graphic design, Japanese monsters, chaos, and smoking dinosaurs, Tim Biskup has honed an infectious style. His surreal, dense, colorful paintings evoke Paul Klee, James Flora, and Hieronymus Bosch, as well as animation pioneers like Ward Kimbal, Bob Clampett, and Mary Blair. Yet, in the midst of a maelstrom of sex and violence, the reader will still catch a few glimpses of warmth and human compassion. That's because Kazuo Koike, the creator of the popular Lone Wolf & Cub manga, knows how to build around good characters, and Lady Snowblood is certainly no exception. See how it all ends in volume 4, the second part of "Retribution." The pages for Brave New World are all the same. And thanks for doing this. Prodigy in Front Line? Awesome. Even that shitty Avengers characters, Silver... fox? Showing up in FF was nice.
Welcome, it takes a while to put this together but I'm glad it's usefull. I've fixed both DCU: Brave New World and Civil War: Front Line (some colour pages were the same as pencils). For those looking at Dimonds shipping list and not finding Flight, Volume 3.... you're not blind. It's not on any of the shipping lists that I checked. It will be released June 27th on Amazon.com however. And while I'm here, are there any suggestions/changes you'd like to see in this thread? Let me know!
