Worse yet, the suit's unreliable powers are prone to failure, repeatedly leaving her in appallingly distressing situations . . . and giving her a shameful reputation as the lamest "cape" in the masks-and-tights business. Nonetheless, she pluckily braves the ordeals of her bottom-rung superheroic life with the help of her "thugalicious" boyfriend (and former Witless Minion) and her hard-drinking ninja girlfriend, not to mention the supervillainous advice from the caged alien demonlord watching DVDs from atop her coffee table . . . From Adam Warren-writer/artist of the English-language Dirty Pair comics (the original "Original English-Language Manga" before OEL was cool), and writer of Livewires, Gen13, and Iron Man: Hypervelocity-comes Empowered, a butt-kicking, bootylicious superhero lampoon that raises the bar for long-john lust and low-brow laughs. Bill, envisioned a sophisticated, novel-length comic tailored to their peers. Collaborating with comics art master Matt Baker, known for singularly defining the genre of "good girl art" on titles such as Phantom Lady, they crafted a film-noir inspired masterwork of romance, intrigue, and moral relativity. When cynical newspaperman Hal Weber reunites with old flame Rust Masson, he finds the beguiling widow of a mining magnate willing to do anything to undermine the local political machine--her only opponent for total control of Copper City! This painstakingly restored replica volume includes a new introduction by writer Arnold Drake providing a first-hand history of the graphic novel. Before winning the Bill Finger Award for lifetime achievement in comics writing, before creating Deadman, or writing Doom Patrol and X-Men, Drake helped bring the original "picture novel" to life, a true milestone in the history of comics! I just wanted to confirm the thread title should be 3/21/07, not 3/31/07. Could we get a title change?
Someone explain to me how Bachalo actually gets work when he can't draw. Everytime I look at his work all I see are the same people in the same damn poses all the time.
i have a old issue of X-Men Unlimited that he drew...looks way different...looks better...i also liked his Generation X and Generation Next art...but ever since Steampunk, i can't stand his art (especially AoA) same goes for Humberto Ramos...i liked his Impulse, Crimson and the first half of Out There art...but then his art suddenly changed big time too...couldn't stand the second half of Out There and everything after. Sadly, i can stand Rob Liefield's art more than these two now (shocking aint it)...and i'll still end up buying both X-Men titles.
