BANYA: THE EXPLOSIVE DELIVERY MAN VOLUME 3 TP

    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    By: Kim Young-Oh

The cunning and intrepid Banya faces his greatest challenge yet! The unstoppable delivery man finds himself in the middle of a mysterious dispute at the heart of a sacred temple-trapped between devout warrior-priests and the vicious, ruthless Torren! But Banya pledges allegiance to no religion or country, only to the motto of the Gaya Desert Post Office: "Fast. Precise. Secure." Banya's certainly no stranger to mayhem, and he proudly asserts, "There isn't a delivery I can't make!" This time, however, have he and his young cohort Kong bitten off more than they can chew?

Kim Young-Oh's latest action-packed romp is filled with tense battles, horrific villains and monsters, and perfectly-timed comedic moments.

    EMPOWERED TP

    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    By:Adam Warren

Not only is costumed crimefighter "Empowered" saddled with a less-than-ideal superhero name, but she wears a skintight and cruelly revealing "supersuit" that only magnifies her body-image insecurities. Worse yet, the suit's unreliable powers are prone to failure, repeatedly leaving her in appallingly distressing situations . . . and giving her a shameful reputation as the lamest "cape" in the masks-and-tights business. Nonetheless, she pluckily braves the ordeals of her bottom-rung superheroic life with the help of her "thugalicious" boyfriend (and former Witless Minion) and her hard-drinking ninja girlfriend, not to mention the supervillainous advice from the caged alien demonlord watching DVDs from atop her coffee table . . .

From Adam Warren-writer/artist of the English-language Dirty Pair comics (the original "Original English-Language Manga" before OEL was cool), and writer of Livewires, Gen13, and Iron Man: Hypervelocity-comes Empowered, a butt-kicking, bootylicious superhero lampoon that raises the bar for long-john lust and low-brow laughs. Remove all previous notions of superhero entertainment from your puny mind . . . and prepare to be Empowered!

GHOST IN THE SHELL 1.5: HUMAN-ERROR PROCESSOR #6 (of 8)

    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    By: Shirow Masamune

    Part 6 of 8
Another grisly murder has been committed, and again the unidentified victim has a military tattoo that's been found on all the bodies in a series of brutal slayings. Section 9 special agents Togusa and Azuma find a destroyed cyborg at the scene, the same killer 'borg who nearly did them in in a previous encounter. Also found are the prints of the last surviving member of the now-slaughtered military team. Is he the final name on the hit list, or is he the mastermind crossing off the names?

Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-Error Processor presents for the first time in America the "lost" Ghost in the Shell stories, created by Shirow Masamune after completing work on the original Ghost in the Shell manga and prior to his tour-de-force, Ghost in the Shell 2: Man-Machine Interface. This deluxe-format issue concludes "Mines of Mind," the third of four Ghost in the Shell tales.

    IT RHYMES WITH LUST TP

    Publisher:
    Dark Horse Comics
    Writers: Arnold Drake, Leslie Waller
    Pencils: Matt Baker
    Covers: Matt Baker

In 1950, writers Arnold Drake and Leslie Waller, both attending college on the G.I. Bill, envisioned a sophisticated, novel-length comic tailored to their peers. Collaborating with comics art master Matt Baker, known for singularly defining the genre of "good girl art" on titles such as Phantom Lady, they crafted a film-noir inspired masterwork of romance, intrigue, and moral relativity. When cynical newspaperman Hal Weber reunites with old flame Rust Masson, he finds the beguiling widow of a mining magnate willing to do anything to undermine the local political machine--her only opponent for total control of Copper City!

This painstakingly restored replica volume includes a new introduction by writer Arnold Drake providing a first-hand history of the graphic novel. Before winning the Bill Finger Award for lifetime achievement in comics writing, before creating Deadman, or writing Doom Patrol and X-Men, Drake helped bring the original "picture novel" to life, a true milestone in the history of comics!

    ARMY@LOVE #1

    Publisher:
    DC Comics/Vertigo Comics
    Writers: Rick Veitch
    Pencils: Rick Veitch, Gary Erskine
    Covers: Rick Veitch, Gary Erskine

    "THE HOT ZONE CLUB"
Comics iconoclast Rick Veitch (SWAMP THING, CAN'T GET NO) writes and pencils a subversive new ongoing series, joined by inker Gary Erskine (THE FILTH).

Comedy collides head on with tragedy when a New Jersey National Guard unit is deployed indefinitely to a never-ending series of wars in the Middle East. These are citizen soldiers — kids fresh out of high school shoulder-to-shoulder with middle-aged corporate manager. To motivate them, a modernized military has gone into full, take-no-prisoners marketing mode.

Equal parts blistering battle action, sensuous soap opera and pitch-black satire in the vein of PREACHER and TRANSMETROPOLITAN, Army@Love is unlike anything Veitch — or any other comics creator — has ever attempted. And you won't believe your eyes when you see what it takes to become a member of The Hot Zone Club! Don't miss a Sneak Peek at this issue in Y: THE LAST MAN #55.

    HELLBLAZER #230 (1 of 2)

    Publisher:
    DC Comics/Vertigo Comics
    Writers: Andy Diggle
    Pencils: Leonardo Manco
    Covers: Lee Bermejo

"IN AT THE DEEP END", Part 1 of 2
Welcoming aboard fan-favorite writer ANDY DIGGLE (THE LOSERS, BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL), as the new ongoing writer of JOHN CONSTANTINE: HELLBLAZER. Constantine is back in "the smoke" and back on his game. But when he finds himself handcuffed to a post in the River Thames with the tide rising around him, he has some fast talking to do if he wants to live to see the dawn. Of course, this is no ordinary gangland execution — and Constantine is no ordinary victim...

It all goes down in Part 1 of the 2-part "In at the Deep End," featuring the talents of master horror artist Leonard Manco, with vivid covers by Lee Bermejo.

"John Constantine has been the best character in comics for 20 years now, and I'm relishing the chance to deliver some old-school supernatural horror with a social conscience," says Diggle. It's the start of a new era for Vertigo's flagship title — be there from the horrifying beginning!

Someone explain to me how Bachalo actually gets work when he can't draw. Everytime I look at his work all I see are the same people in the same damn poses all the time.

i have a old issue of X-Men Unlimited that he drew...looks way different...looks better...i also liked his Generation X and Generation Next art...but ever since Steampunk, i can't stand his art (especially AoA)

same goes for Humberto Ramos...i liked his Impulse, Crimson and the first half of Out There art...but then his art suddenly changed big time too...couldn't stand the second half of Out There and everything after.

Sadly, i can stand Rob Liefield's art more than these two now (shocking aint it)...and i'll still end up buying both X-Men titles.
