It seem that there's not much difference with these two versions in fact Hasbro's looks more show accurate with some colors. e.g:

    Hasbro
    OP is actually red still!
    Hasbro Grey? (legs)
    Roller is Blue (cartoon acc)
eyes are light Blue (cartoon acc)
    smokestacks might be shortened?
    still chromed!

    Takara
    Red
    gun metal Grey legs
    Grey Roller
    Darker Blue eyes
    Long smokestacks
    Chromed parts

and lastly what everyone didn't expect was he comes with exact same accessories !!!

The only drawback is the legs do look slightly lighter shade of grey but for what we're getting I can deal with it.

I am extremely happy for waiting to get Hasbro and trust me it wasn't easy because I nearly always get the Takara version. He'll also be in my price range, estimated 150AUD here in Australia :D  What do you guys think?

Roller was also gray/silver/whatever in the cartoon. And maybe it's just my faulty memory, but I remember him being gray more often than blue.

Smokestacks compress, they aren't supposed to be any smaller on Hasbro's toy.

MP-10's upper legs are not gunmetal grey. they're darker, but not that dark.

US version is a lighter blue overall, and doesn't appear to have a painted face.

US version lacks silver paint on the inside of the trailer.

While at Botcon, I heard some people saying that whatever was shown in the display case doesn't necessarily mean that thats what will get released in the US (i.e. smoke stacks may be short on the actual release, etc). I would take it with a grain of salt until we actually see what we get. Either way, I think that the US release will be worth the wait, especially for the price.

Not gunmetal but ye looks darker than Hasbros

I like the look of this face MUCH better than Takaras, basically because his eyes are a lighter blue

Ah yes, the silver paint missing on the inside of trailer, makes it look bland but if that makes it an extra $100+ I can overlook that.

The lights are painted orange/bronze on the chest on the Hasbro and not on the Takara.

I plan on getting this but have no regrets buying the Takara either.

I wish they would have moved the Autobot symbol on the trail back to where it is on the G1 toy.

Nope, just unpainted red. Takara version appears to emulate the cartoon version of Prime more, where those lights appeared red in most of the animation much like the original G1 toy.

The Hasbro version is more like the movie where those lights were colored in.

Nothing I see on the Hasbro version is so egregious as to deter me from the hopefully $100+ in savings. Here's hoping I can get one before they get bought out.

Looking at the pic of the trailer in the box it seems to me the outside of the trailer is also unpainted. Looks to be the same gray as the legs. (The only part of the TT version that I found lacking and dull: the gray upper legs...wish it had been more silverish.)

I don't even remember him being blue. He already wasn't that often in the cartoon (3 times?) and according to pics on the TFwiki at least two of these times he was gray.

Actually, not until the early 2000's when I started looking for TF info on internet did I know there was a blue roller -- my version was gray.

I think the TT version looks better in every way, except the painted lights on the shoulders. I'm very glad I bought MP-10 and if I hadn't, I would've done so after seeing the pics of the Hasbro version (esp since the price difference for those not living in the USA will be a lot smaller).

I'm hoping they omit the trailer in the final retail release and reduce the price to under $100.

Come on hasbro! Scrap the trailer!!!!

Why would you want no trailer??? Even without trailer you will still be paying around 100 for it since it's already such a huge price drop.

I got the Takaratomy version and if the smokestacks are not altered, I will be picking Hasbro's version also...I love this figure...if only we got a new MP Megatron to pose him with! :)

honestly, the trailer is the only thing that makes the truck mode perfection, not covering up the giant blue blocks with something really detracts from the truck mode imo.

Glad I waited for the Hasbro version. Not paying $100+ just for different shades of color, a painted interior of a trailer, and a grey roller.
