With the impending release of the Transformers Prime toyline which character(s) do you think will be collecting dust this winter?

    The inevitable half-dozen Bumblebee repaints.

Almost certainly Bee. Mainly due to his unavoidably inevitable high case assortment count.

Conversely, I see Vehicons being very hard to find due to troop building.

A lot of the ones released in wave 1, frankly, I can't see shelfwarming. None of them are half-assed repaints or just plain bad, so I think they will sell okay, but not stellar, especially in the US where the show doesn't air on basic cable like it does in Canada.

Bumblebee is... Bumblebee. His initial version will probably sell but once Hasbro cranks out the repaints, they'll clog everything up. Hasbro seriously overestimates Bee's popularity. Also, after 5 years of constant Bee toys, almost anyone that wants one has one or more by now.

In our country, Bumblebee, Starscream and Arcee. Collectors are already excited about Cliffjumper, so I don't think he will shelfwarm.

Other than the obvious which is Bumblebee, I could also realistically see Arcee doing not so well unless kids these days aren't what I think they are...

Would you believe I see Cliffjumper shelfwarming? What with the possibility of two molds and a retool coming out in succession like that.

Sadly, I think Bulkhead will shelfwarm.

Although you can never predict these things, I've been amazed at certain figures shelfwarming in the past.

Not likely. He is out numbered by Prime, 3 to 1. I predict Bulkheads disappearing quite rapidly and Prime clogging the shelves making restocks rare.

I don't really expect any solid shelfwarmers. I expect to see more of Bumblebee and Optimus than anything else, but that's because they overproduce them to meet higher demand.

neither of these would surprise me. ZombieCliff esp. So far it's the only figure I intend to pass on. Animated Bulkhead appeared to shelfwarm somewhat, and I was inclined to suspect people just didn't want to get the fat toy. But then it may have just been Hasbro overestimating the demand. Hard to say.

I don't know how Soundwave will go down either. He's a bit of a non-entity to look at, and the altmode is kinda dull too. Works in the show, but he's such a cypher that the overall lack of character might make it less attractive to kids.

Voyager Prime, Deluxe Cliffjumper, and the two pack. Can't comment on Bumblebee since it's a new line with a new aesthetic, but if DOTM is any indication, I'll be seeing First Edition Bumblebees until Christmas 2012.

Yeah, I know that Bulky comes shortpacked (even if that arrangement on a case of 4 makes sense from a business point of view) but I still fear he might shelfwarm like in animated.

When I look at the figure, I feel it's the kind of awesome design and engineering that will be loved by older collectors and fans, but will be mostly ignored by kids.

My best guess is zombie Cliffjumper. Bumblebee and Optimus depends on your definition of shelf warming. They always sell, but they just pack so much it looks like they don't move off the shelves.

If the Vehicon wasn't such troop building fodder, I'd guess him too.

The only First Editions I can see shelfwarming, are Deluxe Bumblebee, Voyager Optimus Prime, and the Entertainment pack. When the main line hits, I could easily see Cliffjumper v2 warming the pegs.
