Rotten Tomato(e)s is the movie-review site that compiles various online reviews from movie critics and compiles it in to an overall percentage. The biggest surprise this year was undoubtedly X-Men: First Class, which was in the high 90% the week of its release until dropping in to the mid to high 80's the following week.

So where is Transformers: DOTM going to end up ranking?

    Bragging rights if you're right!!!

63 percent%. What amuses me is how the internet is obsessed with what critics think.

70-79%. I think this film is going to blow the other two out of the water, but...I guess you could say that's not too difficult. Here's hoping the critics don't destroy it simply because it's related to ROTF.

With so many people saying it's the best of the trilogy, I can see it scoring higher than #1's 57%...but only slightly, because some critics seem to have such an absolute hate-on for Bay that they'll refuse to eat crow if it turns out decent (I'm looking at you, Peter Travers)

I'm going to be more realistic and optimistic and say 60-69. Above that I think people are asking for a miracle.

Knowing what usually gets the high scores on RT, I'm going to say on opening day the score will be around 30, maybe 40% and then drop as the week goes on.

Harsh? Maybe. But this is Rottentomatoes we're talking about. Just look at how Cars 2 got scored.

Tough for me to call right now because it's hard to say what's just hype about shoring up the weaker parts of the films so far and what's really a concerted effort to go for an all around good film this time.

Might as well go bold and say 80% to 89% if Bay breaks out of his mold, the writer uses his horror background to give us a darker film, and the 3D is shot so well it renews people's faith in 3D as more than a gimmick. If nothing else critics might be feeling a bit generous at not having to endure the sort of humor we got last time.

The Tomatometer is inherently flawed, since reviews can only be "good" or "bad" with no middle ground. That's essentially making every review either a 5-star rating, or a 0-star rating, and that's no real basis for an aggregate score.

That said, I'm guessing the critics rating will be somewhere around 35%. They'll be impressed by the visuals, but completely turned off by all the "overly loud and drawn out action sequences".

Audience rating will be in the 80% range.

    I've never understood Rotten Tomatoes.

Is it: The the higher the percentage, the worse the movie is?

I'd really, really like to see it do well review-wise. However, I don't think critics will want to admit that they enjoyed a Bay movie, especially not Transformers after the RotF fiasco. I'm going say 29%, but if the VFX and better quality of the story/characterization, etc., manage to win critics over, I could see it doing 65+%. Sounds like it'll be a 200% in my book, though. :D

60-70%. Let's face it. Like many of you above me we all agree this is a bay film. And critics hate bay. if you read the reviews they will literally destroy everything about his films. The only movie this did not happen was The Rock but that ha Sean Connery. DOTM won't be any different. I just hope they aren't so damn bias. I personally cannot wait for Ebert's review...

This movie is stupid. People are stupid for liking this movie. Crappy acting, bad story it is number 2 all over again. Bay is a **** director with no intelligence. I rate this -5 out of 5 because it sucks and it insults human intelligence.

I voted "Less than 30%", because I'm a Negative Nancy. If DOTM even approaches levels of bad that ROTF hit, critics will tear the movie a new asshole. Bay would need to drop all the stupid trash humor, and Bay isn't one to change.

I think DotM will get in the high 60's to 70's. Bay highest film is the Rock and its in the 60's and considering the guy averages quite low, it'll be some miracle if he could get in the 80's or more.

Because Rotten Tomatoes is where idiots go to feel like film critics.

I voted 50-59% but I think it could do around, say, 63% when all is said and done if it's a good movie and if critics are willing to judge it on its own merits, rather than let themselves be biased by their opinions on ROTF and Bay. That's a pretty big hurdle but not impossible to clear.

If nothing else, it looks like the 3D is going to be universally praised (or as close to it as humanly possible).
