So I finally broke down and got a reissue Predaking. So far, I am not blown away, but yet again his is pretty cool at the same time.

    Just have some questions:

1- Has anyone done any mods to Divebomb to give Predakings elbow added articulation? Seems like it would take some sanding of the inner thighs to do this.
2- What Crazy Devy parts are really a must buy for this guy?
3- Any thing with him I should be aware of? Tweaks etc?

    Thanks,

This is obvious probably, but always be sure to push the buttons in when pulling the legs off. As a kid I didn't realize that I even broke a tab since they come off easily enough without pushing the buttons and they stay on alright if it snaps.

Other than that, I'd maybe take some peeks at old Predakings and their sticker wear to see which stickers you may want to skip or align in a way to prevent them from rubbing in joints since the gold isn't very forgiving with scratches.

I just saw a pretty sweet mistransformation:

    - On the rampage, where you pull his arms to the side to make room for the legs to go up. That's a very nice mistransformation trick.
    - Then rotate the body around so that the legs are facing inwards. Makes that arm look more beefed up, but still a great look
    - For Divebomb, I did notice that if you lift the tailand swing the legs out, you have a much better elbow joint. Again a pretty useful trick.

Now the debate with myself on how much I want to spend on those CrazyDevy Parts.

I <3 predaking, and have all the crazydevy parts except the hands for my 2010 reissue. here's a pic of him, compared to my g1 version all suited up. pick whatever parts you like for yours, but beware, because it basically doubled the cost of him getting all of the parts:

That picture's making me want those parts. Except for the cannons. The giant wingspan looks cool, but the cannons just look too big.

I just want that sword. Razorclaw's always looked so small in Predaking's hand. Although without any add-ons, I'm wondering if it's too big.

Ckhtiger, would be able to take a pic with the crazydevy sword in non-upgraded Predaking's hand?

I have the wings and the cannons for my 2010 predaking. I want more, its just that it TAKES MORE $$$$ to upgrade. Which to me,... I think should be in a package deal that is cheap but proper quality I think.

CrazyDevy Predaking is not cheap. So far, they’ve come out with:

CDMW-10 gives him an upgraded Head with an LED optical visor.
    CDMW-11 gives him upgraded Wings.
CDMW-14 gives him an upgraded Sword.
    CDMW-15 gives him upgraded Feet.
CDMW-18 gives him rotating Shoulder Cannons.
CDMW-23 gives him upgraded Hands with individual articulation.
CDMW-26 gives him an upgraded Mane and Arm Cannon.

But he is immense. He’s 12 inches tall (head to toe), 17.5 if you count the cannons (in the up position), and when you include the wings, he’s about 20 inches wide. He’s still G1 Predaking, so there are limits (no knees, barely has elbows, etc.), but with the upgrades, he looks good compared to FansProject Colossus (Not-Bruticus).

Oh, and I don't think the above picture does him justice. You kind of have to see him in person to really appreciate how much cooler he is.

Instead of buying a Crazydevy sword, just get a Dino Megazord sword. Works well enough for me.

The CDMW-14 Sword is the only upgrade I bought for my (2010) Predaking, but I can assure you it looks very good on him, even without the other upgrades. It certainly is big, but most definitely not TOO big. And a giant improvement compared to arming him with Razorclaw's pocketknife.

I can't take pictures, alas, as Predaking (and sword) are in deep storage.

Man... CD's sense of scale is just a wee bit off. I'm not against the ideas, but it feels like go all ludicrously anime sensation style with the parts. And when you can't really pose the figure much at all it comes off a bit silly.

    I totally want a new-mold Predaking.

Too bad that the cannon is out of stock.

What I would ideally like to get is:
    - The cannon
    - The Mane
    - The Sword

I think I will skip on:
    - The wings. They are nice, but not $80 nice.
    - The head. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see that much of a difference. Also, why does the whole head glow and not just the eyes?
    - The hands. Everything I read said this should be an instant skip, since it really does nothing worth while.

I am on the fence about the feet. What do they really do? I mean, I see the extra little piece there, but does it really do anything else? I mean is the added height just in that little piece? Or does it allow for an alternate Transformation which gives it more height?

I know everyone is on the same boat, but does anyone thing we will ever see proper thighs for this guy? If we did, they definitely would have to be ratcheting. A ball joint will never be able to hold this thing up.

The reason the whole head glows is the way they made it. The LED is way too strong for the size of the head.

I searched but couldn't find anything. Was there ever any reason given why Crazy Devy hasn't done any ankle joint or knee joint upgrades that could actually give Predaking good articulation?

I'm surprised someone like Fakebuster hasn't done a shapeways joint upgrades for Predaking. If someone gave him actual ankles and knees, Predaking would be unbelievable. Perhaps, that's too much for shapeways technology.

Not sure if Shapeways plastic can handle the weight of Predaking.

Damn, just checked out the price for all the upgrades for this guy: $264.93. OUCH.

Predaking is definitely on my radar.
BBTS has him on sale right now for $153. Since I have a $10. credit there, I can snag him for $155./shipped!

    So tempting!

Yes, but once you do get him, you will be tempted by the CD parts. And they are a lot of mulah.

    That's like $130 right there.
