thanksguys. question about the oversized (and overpriced) wings. Do they replace Divebomb's original wings, or are they "on the side" and used only for combined mode?

They slide over the originals. But theyre such a tight fit, it damages the old wings.

I heard they have a fix for the damage to the old wings. I think Vangelus did a video of them. They really do make the wings look great though.

I like the paint. Your paint skills are always sweet to see.

The arm length seems a bit off to me, and I think bigger hands would have been great.
I don't know a better way to fix the length of the arms though.
I fully understand the complaints about the unicron parts.
Shouldn't let whiners affect your finished product though man.
Unicron parts or not, your combiners always kick ass.

As for the giant wings, There is a part included that eliminates the possibility of damage.
I actually prefer the new parts over the vintage soft rubber anyway. Unless you are using the 2010 Predaking which has harder plastic.
They have to be combiner kibble unfortunately. They are just too wierd looking on Divebomb in any mode other than Predaking. However they are giant and awesome.

With the gold chrome on the CD wings, and your kick ass allclad skillz, you could do some really sweet stuff.
Look forward to the next one man!

I know exactly where you're coming from. There's one side of the pond which are advocates of "minimal/no extra parts = (as seen) sacrifice with proportion" and the other side of the pond who are advocates of "go to town the final gestalt/combined mode's proportions benefit heavily from the extra parts" And of course there's those literally in the pond who would only be pleased with entirely new engineering/scratch-built components, all integrated into the project...yet budget (the key element of most commissions) never allows that. Sure, I'd love to (and probably could) do a "perfect" gestalt, but unless someone wants to finance/invest into such a project, please send me a pm ;)

As far as the arm length, Did you try unfolding rampage and divebombs legs and attatch the predaking hands to the bottom of their feet, this would probably extend the arms out close to an inch in predaking mode. Its the same tactic i used on my menasor build.

yeah, but wanted to hold more true to the image/reference pic I posted up there. Plus if the legs were unfolded, there'd be even a larger gap in the forearms (between the legs)

    I like the idea though...

No torso ball joint? Moooaaaan. But seriously, that makes CrazyDevy's Predaking add-ons look like they were made out of Duplo. You're really good at this stuff.

thanks man, glad I could help inspire!

thanks, although only about an inch, it really helps "spread" them to appear larger. cool thing is they fit back as "one" for Divebomb's back.

    haha, thanks man.

But that'd just scratch the paint and wreck it. :p
Love it. Love the articulation, love the add-ons, love the understated paintjob. :)

Beautiful work here, Mike and Wan! You guys built and painted up one hell of a custom here. I gotta say, this has pushed me to look into snagging a KO Predaking to do something cool like this for my collection. Excellent work!

I think my only critique is the Predaking arm length. They look a bit short and stubby. I know they're based on the poster artwork, but I think they are either drawn short there also or the perspective is off just a bit to make you think they are that length. I think it would look even better to extend them somehow. But still a great job here, guys!
